Tourism Minister Yitzhak Herzog, invited by the Jewish community in Finland to be a guest at the centennial celebration of the Jewish community in Helsinki, will speak at the Central Synagogue in the city before Jewish leaders from all over Scandinavia.
Finland is heavily involved in efforts to implement United Nations resolution 1701 because of its position as current president of the European Union.
During his visit, Herzog will also meet with the Finnish president, prime minister and other government officials. He will deliver to them letters written by the families of the three kidnapped Israeli soldiers and will raise other issues such as the formation of the multinational force in Lebanon.
