Four Israeli women have been ranked in the Forbes list of the 100 most powerful women in the world. Ranked 21st, Oracle President and Chief Financial Officer Safra Catz heads the list of Israelis and is described as the most powerful woman in Silicon Valley.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Tzipi Livni was the second Israeli on the list, ranked 40th, ahead of US First Lady Laura Bush.
CEO of Bank Leumi Galia Maor came third, ranked 88th and the fourth Israeli woman on the list was Orit Gadiesh, CEO of international consultancy firm Bain & Co., and adviser to some of the leading blue chip company managers worldwide. She was ranked 99th this year, after spending a few years in the top 50.
German Chancellor Angela Merkel is the world’s most powerful female politician, ahead of Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice and deputy Chinese Prime Minister Wo Yi.
