Foreign Ministry cancels travel warning

The Foreign Ministry has decided to cancel the recommendation for Israelis who are planning to visit Thailand to reconsider the necessity of their travel. In addition, the recommendation for Israelis in Thailand to remain close to their residence has also been canceled. The Foreign Ministry, however, still recommends Israelis in Thailand to take extra precautions and be vigilant.

Sources in the Foreign Ministry say that that the cancellation of the travel warning is due to an assessment of the situation, which seems to be calm and there are no violent acts reported. “The reports we got are that the situation in Thailand is under control and the situation is calm. This is not a return to normal because we still recommend acting cautiously, but altogether there is no reason to alarm anybody and there is no reason why Israelis should not travel to Thailand,” the source said.
