Close to 30 million Evangelical Christians in 100,000 churches in over 100 nations are expected to take part in a “Day of Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem” on Sunday. The event is held annually on the first Sunday of every October, until the coming of Messiah, and is intended to coincide with the Yom Kippur season.

"The Day of Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem calls every Christian around the world to respond to the mandate of the Holy Scriptures and pray for the peace of Jerusalem," said Rev. Robert Stearns, Executive Director of the New York-based Eagles' Wings Ministry, which inaugurated the international event three years ago.

The prayer session is to be broadcast from Jerusalem's Tower of David Museum and is being held in coordination with the Foreign and Tourism ministries and the Knesset's Christian Allies Caucus. Knesset members Yuri Shtern, Natan Sharansky and Benny Elon will be attending the event.
