Aliyah hits Ten-Year High

More Jews immigrated to Israel in the last year, than in the previous ten years, according to the Jewish Agency. 26,500 new immigrants arrived in Israel during 2014, marking a 32 percent increase over last year’s number. France tops the list of countries of origin for the first time since the establishment of the State.

A group of French Jews immigrate to Israel

Less than a week after the terrorist attack in the Hyper Cacher supermarket in the suburbs of Paris, 24 French Jews made aliyah to Israel. The group arrived at Ben Gurion Airport just days after the attacks took place. Among the immigrants was the family of Johan Cohen, one of the victims of the supermarket attack who was put to rest in the Givat Shaul cemetery in Jerusalem.

Finally living in Israel

After years of planning and many obstacles the Eisenberg family is excited to have finally made it to Israel and to start their new life here. When Daniel and Chavi got married, they unanimously decided to make Aliyah and planned to do so a few years later after completing their university studies working in the US for a few years.
