Aliyah from Ethiopia is in the final stages. Operation Dove's Wings aims to bring the remainder of the Falash Mura (Ethiopians whose ancestors were forced to convert from Judaism to Christianity) to Israel by March 2014. Some of these people have been waiting in a refugee camp in the Gondar province of Ethiopia for up to 10 years.

Ethiopian olim experience great joy on arrival in Israel, but also face many difficulties. As Africans, generally they struggle to absorb into Israel's 'Middle East meets West' society. With a history of persecution, they have little to bring with them in terms of material wealth. Sadly, racism is also a prejudice they have to face in their new homeland.

You can reach out to Ethiopian olim and help smooth their journey home. For just $15 you can provide a nourishing food hamper to feed a family.

AND all this summer, Israel Today will match your donation, providing a 'double blessing' for those who need it most!
