Although the IDF (Israeli Defense Forces), as the name suggests, is a purely defensive army, they are always ready to defend the Israeli nation against terrorists and threats of war. Every soldier must anticipate missions of a life and death nature. Almost every family in Israel has been touched by a loss of a family member or friend serving in the IDF.

All life comes from God’s hand alone and we can do our part and stand behind them with our prayer and encouragement. One way to appreciate the efforts of our soldiers and reservists is to send a gift of encouragement and solidarity

We just put together a new summer package for our hard working men and women in the Israel army. It includes:

  • shampoo
  • fresh spray for shoes
  • nail cutters
  • socks
  • foot ointment

With your help, we will soon be able to surprise some of our soldiers with a care package!

Serving in the IDF Comes With Real Dangers

Everywhere you go in Israel… in the mall, on the bus or standing in line at the falafel shop, you’ll see young people just out of high school, dressed in an army uniform.

While most American 18-year-olds are thinking about going to university or getting a job, their peers in Israel are serving in the Israel Defense Force. Some are patrolling our borders and checkpoints, serving as medics or gathering intelligence, among many other units.

Even in “quiet” times in Israel, there will always be a risk of danger. Now, the terrorist group, Hamas, is calling on terrorist groups to kidnap IDF soldiers.

Senior Hamas leader Salah al-Bardawil urged terrorists participating in a rally in Gaza, to kidnap IDF soldiers. Typically, kidnapped soldiers are used as “bartering chips” to get the state of Israel to release hundreds of terrorists back into society.

According to Major General Avi Mizrachi, who served as the Head of the Central Command in 2009-2012, “Since November [2012] we have foiled 18 attempts by Hamas and Fatah men to abduct Israeli citizens.”

Despite the rise in danger, Israeli soldiers continue to do their job and foil terrorists’ plots.
