Soldiers Winter Package

Your Price:   $36.00
Sku:   KOI019

Although the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), as the name suggests, is primarily a defensive army, our soldiers place their lives at stake on a daily basis. Over time, almost every family has lost relatives in defense of the Promised Land.

Protection and preservation can come only from the Almighty but we can show our appreciation of the efforts of our soldiers and reservists. Let us show our men and women in uniform that we stand behind them, in prayer AND in deed! In the coming weeks, we are planning to distribute Winter Packages for 'our children' - our soldiers! (The majority of IDF soldiers are young men and women just out of school.)

This Winter, our lovingly-prepared Package contains the following items:

  • A Sweat Shirt
  • A Chamtzavar - a multifunctional apple-warmer that can also be used as a hat
  • Warm Socks - to keep the soldiers' feet toasty!
  • Shoe Deodorant
  • Regenerating Hand Cream
  • Medical Lip Balm

Give your gift today for a Soldiers Winter Package, and let the forces know that there are very special people who care, and appreciate their sacrifice and their duty.

Soldiers don’t get a holiday break

Being a part of the IDF means being alert around the clock, since Israel’s borders are constantly fought over. During the holidays, a time when the Jewish people take time to rest and celebrate, it is also important to stand guard.

Israel remembers the Yom Kippur War of 1973 well. Reservists were being pulled out of the synagogue and onto the front lines. Oftentimes it appears that the enemies of Israel are waiting for a vulnerable time to strike.

People all over Israel are busy getting ready for the holiday of Passover, but life in the Israel Defense Forces changes little. There must be soldiers standing guard, ready to defend their land against enemy forces. Morning after morning, and often on the weekends, it means being fully awake and fully aware.

It is especially hard during the holidays to be separated from their family, as most of them will not be granted a holiday break from the army.

Parents whose children have just been called up for military service understand what it really means. With anxious hearts and endless thoughts and prayers, they can only rest in the shelter of God’s protection.

How often have we at Israel Today seen the surprise in their eyes as they behold the care packages full of blessings that we bring them amidst the call of duty. Their letters show how much they are moved and how much strength it gives them, knowing that someone across the sea is thinking about them.

All the more, we want to express through our actions that the soldiers are not alone in their fight. We desire to express the sentiment that we are behind them, sending our prayers and practical gifts for everyday life.

Help us continue to bring light and hope into the every day life of our soldiers!
