While Judaism is not an evangelical religion, God always looks at the heart. At the time of the Great Exodus from Egypt, led by Moses and Aaron, many Egyptians joined Am Israel and were welcomed as fellow travelers along the path to the Promised Land. Ruth the Moabitess spoke these immortal words to her Jewish mother-in-law, Naomi: "Your people will be my people and your God my God", and became an ancestor of Yeshua HaMashiach.

This week, two Gentiles, one a young woman of Chinese origin and the other a young Native American man from Paraguay, who both became Jewish by adoption and grew up in the United States, will take steps to join the Israeli Defense Force (IDF) for their military service.

Both of these brave young people are determined to join combat units. With statements like: "Difficulties only make it more rewarding and worthwhile” and "Soldiers ... represent the fulfillment of the Zionist dream", their hearts cannot fail to capture the attention of the Most High. Not everyone who loves Israel and the Lord is destined to join the IDF but we can all support the valiant efforts of the remarkable young people who serve. One way to do this is to send a gift of solidarity and encouragement. For your gift of just $36, a soldier can enjoy using a much-needed body care package. Click here * AND all this summer, Israel Today will match your donation and double the care for the troops at the time of year they need it most!
