Yom HaZikaron: Remember Israel’s Fallen Soldiers

Posted on 4/9/2013 by in idf Yom Hazikaron

This day of remembrance is a time to join together and call to mind the brave soldiers who defended the state of Israel throughout the years.

Many lost their lives fighting for freedom, fighting for the state of Israel to retain the land that was mandated to them. Israel is surrounded by countries who want to completely destroy them, and it is IDF soldiers who are called to face this enemy and defend the state of Israel from acts of war and terrorism.

Bordered on every side by nations who won’t accept their existence and want to exterminate them, Israel still remains victorious. Not because might is right… but because Jews living in the promised land of Israel is right. Statistically, Israel should have already been wiped off the map. Against all odds, they were saved again and again by miracles from the hand of God.

Remember the soldiers who gave their life so that others could live in freedom in the land of Israel. Remember to pray for God’s protection for those who are serving in the Israel Defense Forces. You can also get involved this year by sending a summer gift to a soldier. They will receive a care package of practical products that will help them in their service.

The care packages that Israel Today prepares for soldiers is always received well – they are delighted to hear that someone is thinking about them and decided to send them a gift. You can’t imagine how far this gift of encouragement goes. For only $36, you can make a big difference!
