Christians who regard the Old Testament
as having been superseded by the New Testament should sit up and take note: Yeshua (Jesus) and the Apostle Paul clearly rule on the side of Israel.
As Paul says in Romans 11:1, “God has not rejected His people, has He? May it never be!” Paul, the main New Testament
writer, refers to Psalm 94:14: “For the Lord will not abandon His people, nor will He forsake His inheritance.”
So we can see that both the Old and the New Testaments affirm that God will never reject Israel, for “I [the Lord] will never break My covenant with you [Israel]”
(Judges 2:1).
Many Christians believe that God regrets
having chosen Israel, as if He did not know what he was doing. Since Israel is not infallible, these Christians believe that God has revoked His “mistaken” decision
and rejected the Jewish people.
