Jewish Iranian parliament rep favors nuclear program
Maurice Motamed, a member of the Iranian parliament representing the Jewish community and a supporter of the Iranian nuclear program has recently visited the large Iranian Jewish population in Los Angeles and held meetings with the local Iranian community.

Motamed’s visit drew a heated debate within the Jewish community whether to meet a person who represents a regime which denies the Holocaust. The members of the Iranian-American Jewish Federation chose to host Motamed at their synagogue.

Motamed said during the visit that the economic situation of the Jews in Iran is good and that Jews can openly practice their faith without fear of reprisals. The evidence he gave to that was the construction of a new Jewish community center in Teheran. On the other hand, another Iranian-Jewish organization (the Council of Iranian Jews) opposed the meetings with him, and said that it is inconceivable that Jews will sit with a man who represents a regime which calls for the destruction of Israel.

Motamed tried to deflect the allegations and presented his actions for the Jewish community in Iran and the harsh criticism he sounded against the Iranian president for denying the Holocaust.

2 .  Iran never said that!
@Guenter: Iran never said it would wipe out all the Jews. However, it did say it would wipe out the state of Israel.
Jews, Zoroastrians and christians are being discriminated on many levels in Iran.
Converts from Islam to any other faith are threatened with death.

Iran is a brutal, theocratic dictatorship of the worst kind!rom

3 .  Iran was never vicous to different religions.
There is still a huge Jewish community in Iran - right? So, if Iran would want to wipe out all the Jews he would start in its own country, but it doesn''t.

4 .  Satan welcomes all!
Iran "is" an axis of evil and a wolf in sheep''s clothing. The unfortunate issue is the US has lost credibility in the eyes of the world but Biblically, Iran will play its hand as the earthly conquerer that will be destroyed by a heavenly power. Satan will be chained and then destroyed. Much like Saddam.

5 .  Representative of Iranian Jews
Do some research on what it means to be a "dhimmi," a non-Muslim allowed to live in a Muslim country ( in an inferior status) dependent upon the mercy of the ruler.

Iran does not want its remaining Jews to leave it needs the 20,000 Jewish hostages.

Most expatriate Iranian Jews- in the US, Israel, etc., have relatives still in Iran.
