Excavators have continued digging through a tunnel under Jerusalem's City of David for months without a permit from the Israel Antiquities Authority (IAA), as required by law.

Archeologists Professor Gabi Reich and Eli Shukrun have continued digging in the City of David, on the eastern slopes of Jerusalem, for an additional 100 meters (328 feet), violating their permit.

They continued digging following the discovery of a Roman road, believed to be part of Jerusalem’s main street. Elad, an association working to place Jews in East Jerusalem, is financing the project.

Late last year, the archaeologists showed senior government officials a plan to continue tunneling beneath the Arab East Jerusalem town of Silwan to the Old City's Dung Gate, some 600 meters away, and perhaps even as far as the wall around the Temple Mount.

Palestinians say this violates the sanctity of the Aqsa mosque and Dome of the Rock.

“We are facing a dangerous action. Jerusalem's Moslem and Christian holy sites are dear to all Palestinians,” said Hamas’ exiled chief Khaled Mashaal. “Israel is trying to take advantage of the Palestinian internal conflict to commit its crimes.”

The Aqsa Mosque is Islam's third holiest shrine and has been a point for sparking for Israeli-Palestinian conflict in the past.

Firstly, Yeshua came to INTERPRET Torah CORRECTLY, which is one of the things expected of Messiah when He comes. When a Gentile comes to faith, s/he is expected to take on a G-dly lifestyle, as layed out by G-d''s commandments in the Torah, not just a moral code of conduct of do-goody. How can Christians say, we can now throw away this part of the Scriptures, because it was ''fullfilled in Jesus''? Can Christians now steal, fornicate and blaspheme, because Jesus fullfilled those laws too??? Doesn''t make sense, does it? Secondly, the term Christian was a nickname, not a new religion they were forced to join - as enforced by the Church later. BTW, the first believers called themselves Followerss of the Way. Thirdly, believing Jews are reconciled with G-d in Messiah, they do not have to join a different religion that requires them to deny who and what they are. Christians don''t believe that they must become Jews like Yeshua in order to be saved, so why is it demanded of Jews to become Gentiles (Christians)?

Shel When Jesus was asked what is the greatest commandment he responded by saying that it was to love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, strength and mind and your neighbour as yourself. He then went on to say ALL the law and the prophets were fulfilled in doing this. So how can you say that a Jew that becomes a Christian means that they deny the inspired commandments of God. Were not the first Christians Jews?

Go back go back to what Yashua taught His disciples and stop following what man is teaching. Listen to the Spirit of God and go back to the Torah. No where in our Bibles (Tanakh-Holy Bible) does it call for Sunday Worship...Nowhere.

Study the Feasts and the Festables and you will find, Yashua was born on Tabernacles, Crucified on the Feast of Passover, and raised from the dead on the Feast of First Fruits, Shabbat evening which is Saturday evening not Sunday.

Check it out for yourself. Study to show yourself approved and rightly divide the Word of God.

Sorry Shaul, I agree with you that Constantine was not a Christian and in fact he was one of many to persecute the Jews, put a stop to circumcision, studying Torah, and was against Sabbath worship and much more.

This was about the time that Christianity went wrong, really wrong.

Yashua''s followers were truly the first Christians and they did observe Torah, just like Yashua (Jesus) did.

This is what I was trying to get across to Mary and also Jerry. I responded to quickly.

Jerry check out the history of Constantine and you will find that he was not really a Christian in the sense that you are.

Christianity is such a true religion that it disregards, allegorises and blatantly changes the Scriptures in 75% of the Bible. Furthermore, to convert Jews to Christianity means that they have to deny the inspired commandments of G-d, which Yeshua said were not to be changed by as much as a yud or tittle. Since christianity is forbidden in many moslem countries the only chance for conversion is prayer and the action of the all mighty. Mary,Mary, I sense that your heart is right, but you really have to study the Word of GOD and the History of the Jewish people. Remember, Yashua (Jesus), was born a Jew, died a Jew and is coming back as King of the Jews and we will worship Him in Jerusalem.

I totally agree with Frank Robertsen of Norway, however, we do need to remember that Israel has been very much blessed of God to be able to return to what''s left of Israel in these end times. After all, The Jews constant going away from God and worshiping ''other gods'' - Baal and the like, earned them very stiff punishments which eventually ended up with a Roman take-over. For the Jews to be able to return to Irael is nothing less than God''s grace, but even now, she still calls herself a secular nation! This is much like putting God to the test again as they did in the wilderness all those centuries ago. 40 years of wasted lives!

Artifacts and additional information help in the proof of Christ''s existence in the city as well as historical text and artwork found in buried rooms.
The rubble of the cities long past turn up reused in construction over the years. There may be a concern by the Moslems that items found may point to a flaw in their religion.
