Doctor shot dead in Ramat Gan
Senior physician and Professor David Niv, 57, director of the pain clinic at Tel Aviv's Ichilov Hospital, was shot dead early Tuesday morning while driving in Ramat Gan.

Initial reports revealed that Niv’s car had veered from the road and collided with a tree. But once police examined the car it was clear he was shot in the head.

Bullet holes were also found in the side of the vehicle.

Niv was believed to have been on the way to his home, but his family members were unsure as to where he was headed. The police are unsure of the motive of the attack and believe the possibility Niv was mistakenly shot.

Israel Radio reported that the senior doctor's former colleagues were being questioned over the incident but no arrests have yet been made.
