“With one voice we bless you, you with one song we praise you, with one song we raise up your name in the land,” young people sang together at the “Barbee,” a Tel Aviv pub.

In a concert called Shir Echad (One Song), believers from all over Israel gathered for the worship concert, the second Shir Echad, organized by the worship band of King of Kings’ congregation young adults group. The first one took place in Haifa in January.

Shir Echad is taking Messianic worship into the public arena.

“It’s a grassroots movement gathering young people from all over Israel while trying to bring in nonbelievers as well in a secular venue and reach this generation in their own language through music,” said Emily Schiavi, one of the Shir Echad worship leaders.

While the band is mostly comprised of expatriate Gentiles temporarily living in the Land, sabra (native Israeli) worship leaders are also featured.

Most of the people who attended were believers, but a few Israelis were at the concert. One man said he could feel the “sensitivity” of the songs, many of which lifted up Yeshua.
