Hamas turns on Gaza Christians

Having vanquished their rivals in Palestinian Authority Mahmoud Abbas' Fatah movement, Gaza-based Hamas gunmen are now turning their attention to the area's small Christian communities and other non-Muslim influences.

As Hamas completed its conquest of Gaza last Thursday, a spokesman for the group appeared on Palestinian television and announced the “end of secularism and heresy in the Gaza Strip.”

Shortly after, a group of militants stormed the Latin Church and the adjacent Rosary Sisters School in Gaza City, reportedly using rocket-propelled grenades (RPGs) to blow through the doors.

After gaining entrance, the rampaging jihadists burned every Bible and destroyed every cross they could get their hands on before setting both buildings alight, according to sources who spoke to Israel Today.

Beyond the local representations of Christianity, the purging Islamic forces are also targeting statues.

In a scene reminiscent of Taliban rule in Afghanistan, a Hamas-affiliated group of militants on Sunday uprooted a cement statue from a public square in Gaza City because they said it violated Islamic laws forbidding the erection of statues, which are worshipped by pagans another non-believers.

Some fear that elements within Hamas may go so far as imposing a dress code on women in Gaza.

Earlier this month, a smaller local Islamic group believed to have ties to Al Qaeda publicly threatened to kill female Palestinian television news anchors for dressing immodestly while on the job.

The same group is said to have been behind some 50 bomb attacks on Gaza Internet cafes, record stores, satellite dish vendors and Christian bookstores over the past year.

With Hamas now fully in control of Gaza, many fear the worst is yet to come.

Stephen, you are sounding like a broken record. Al of your proof texts regarding Jesus as G-d are NT writings. The reason is because you can not and will not find any proof for Jesus as G-d in the Hebrew Scriptures. It is simply not there, my friend! You have formed your opinion from the Christian writings (which by the way include numerous misquotes, made-up verses) and then have forced the Hebrew Scriptures to conform to your pre-conceived ideas. Jesus told Peter he that kills with the sword will be killed with the sword. This means that a Christian cannot force someone to follow Christ. I too need not kill a Jew or force one to convert. Jesus said no man cometh unto the Father but by me. So I just have to let Jesus do the talking. As he said Jerusalem will be taken then He will appear and redeem those who are left as they cry out blessed is he (Jesus) who cometh in the name of the Lord. Jesus said I come in my Fathers name. If you know any amount of history you will quite easily see that down throughout the centuries the church has always done this. And when the Jews refused to accept the christian''s doctrine of the trinity they simply turned around and tried to force it on them by means of conversion and/or threat of death. The Spanish Inquisition is a good exampke of such a thing. And please don''t give me this garb about those individuals not being "true" christians. The church fathers were all "true" christians but came to hate the Jewish people whom they considered to be dogs and scum, when they understood that the Jews would not convert and accept idolatry. If you look inward you will see antisemitism in your heart, too.

Stephen, what you have written is a typical christian response. Not only is it your way or the highway when it comes to salvation but you are following the path most christians take when trying to understand truth, that is, you are reading into the Hebrew Scriptures, not out of the Scriptures.

I say it but the Torah Jews are afraid to speak it. It’s just not politically correct acknowledge the fact that one must sacrifice for sins under the Law. I agree with Watchman on the point that God would have given a way to sacrifice if this is so. So when the Jews told Pilate to crucify Christ they did it ignorantly through the hatred of the Jewish church leaders. So when Gods’ body (Jesus) was killed it was destroying the Word of God. They have been instilled with this concept that "grace" has replaced Torah, that the sun-god''s day has replaced the Father''s Sabbath, that Xmas and Easter are really Scriptural and the Feasts are extinct with no value, that Hashem''s Name means nothing to them, that saying a little prayer over forbidden food makes it okay to eat. As someone once commented "true" christians know how to make kodesh but they don''t know anything about havdalah. The only reason why christians help Jews today, and this is the main reason, is to hope that Jews will convert to christianity. Please do not tell me that it is simply because they love them. I would suggest you read the context of the verse you mention regarding the one with the wounded hands. If you take any amount of time to study the passage you will soon realize your error. The one with wounded hands is to be killed by his parents for being a false prophet. That is why so many church scholars over the past few years have begun to reject that passage as messianic. Where oh where does it say that Jesus is God? There is only one God and He is the Holy One of Israel, not one of the three christian gods.

Clarification on Antichrist

Let''s look at these scriptures:
1 John 4:3 (King James Version)
3And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come and even now already is it in the world.

This scripture is telling us that the SPIRIT of antichrist is already in the world. It is at work in evil ways to deceive and draw people away from Christ. The Holy Spirit draws people to Christ and the spirit of antichrist draws people away from Christ. Hence the prefix anti.

Im not sure if all of you are aware but the NIV bible has 17 verses missing from the New Testament. Revelation tells us at the very end "beware he who adds to or takes away from the words written in this book. I am at work now but if any wish to know I will post the missing verses tomorrow so you can look for yourself. Man has no right to leave scriptures out. There is now one out called the TNIV which is suppose to be acceptable for the gay population.

I read from the kKng James Bible. I asume by your name your Jehovah Witness (aka watchman). So I''ll discuss it this way. A Jehovah witness man came to my house not too long ago. He said the Jehovah Bible is what they use, he said they don''t use the KJV. I then read a booklet from them with KJV scriptures in it. They also use the NIV bible. One particular verse states my case. The KJV Bible states in my fathers house are many mansions NIV states in my fathers house are many rooms the Jehovah bible states in my fathers house are many abodes. Three different words meaning many things. These two bibles NIV, Jehovah are based on the KJV text ie suppose to explain the KJV better. This is confusion ie false bibles. What then is the the mansion in Gods house?

There are two Greek words used in the NT for the English word temple. They are hieron and naos. Hieron always refers to a physical building. Naos can refer to either a physical building or a spiritual building as in a person or group of persons.

To understand which definition of the word is being used, proper hermeneutics dictates that one looks elsewhere to see how that word is used.

Interestingly, Paul uses both words. However, every time he uses the word naos he is ALWAYS referring to a spiritual building as in a person or group of persons. An example of this is seen in "do you not know that you are the temple (naos) of the ruach hakodesh?"

I don''t know as it is profitable to try and point the finger at someone and say they are or are not the anti-christ. The Bible says that he will not be revealed until the restrainer is removed. That being the restraining power of the Holy Spirit who restrains evil through His presence in the real "church", or the Body of Christ. Satan is called the accuser and I don''t think that we should be accusing people of being the anti-christ. We can however, be waiting and watching and going about our Father''s business. We need to know the scriptures so that we won''t fall away from the truth or be deceived. I have heard John Haggee say and it sounds very accurate that the present Pope is very possible the anti-christ. He meets the criteria, he is from Rome, he has been working to get all religions united into one alliance, and I think the Catholic faith is directed toward the wrong direction.
