A group of three young Arab men beat a middle-aged religious Jewish man on a public bus in Jerusalem on Tuesday.

The altercation occurred after the Jewish man chastised the Arabs, all in their mid-20s, for harassing several young religious Jewish girls on the bus. The vocal argument quickly deteriorated into physical violence when the Arabs attacked the Jewish man, who was later listed in moderate condition at a local Jerusalem hospital.

The three Arabs, all residents of an eastern Jerusalem neighborhood, were arrested at the scene and taken in for questioning.
