Lieberman: US will back Israeli strike on Iran

Israeli Minister of Strategic Affairs Avigdor Lieberman said on Tuesday that he received the tacit blessing of Europe and the United States for an Israeli military strike on Iran's nuclear facilities.

“If we start military operations against Iran alone, then Europe and the US will support us,” Lieberman told Army Radio following a meeting earlier in the week with NATO and European Union officials.

Lieberman said the Western powers acknowledged the severity of the Iranian nuclear threat to the Jewish state, but said that ongoing conflicts in Afghanistan and Iraq are “going to prevent the leaders of countries in Europe and America from deciding on the use of force to destroy Iran's nuclear facilities,” even if diplomacy ultimately fails.

The message Lieberman said the NATO and EU officials conveyed to him is that Israel should “prevent the threat herself.”

4 .  lieberman
Hey mindless liberals, actually read the article. Its not about Joe Lieberman. I personally believe because of the extreme ramifications of an attack against Iran, we (the US and Israel) will hesitate. This reluctance will only grow as an appeasement minded Democrat becomes president in 2009. Eventually Israel will be forced to attack by a miscalculation by the Iranians and the US will follow through with their own attack when it fears the Iranians will escalate instead of backdown.

6 .  the last straw
At some point the whole of the Middle East is going to realise that unless they stand together, they are going to be destroyed one by one. When they do, and combine and overrun Israel and all the US military bases, the rest of the world will howl about how ''evil'' the ''Arabs'' are!
For the sake of world peace, it cannot come soon enough!

7 .  Yea, peacefully, the soap opera way
There are lots of Liebermans, not every one is American. Remember the wars of old? They would have preferred peace then too, chewing gum.

8 .  striking Iran
Learn to work things out with out killing. Focus on the peaceful possiblities.

Lieberman doesn''t have the consent of the American people. To do an action in the USA''s name without the consent of it''s people will bring more hard feeling toward Israel. The hard feelings are growing everyday.

9 .  Back Down!, -stupid
Any attack on Iran would be stupid. Unless the plan is to entirely destroy the US, in a roll-over toward NWO. First, goes the dollar, stocks tumble, freefall-worldwide. So, go ahead Joe, but just remember you''ve got family too.

10 .  Lieberman: US will back Israeli strike on Iran
Contrary to the mis-informed posts already seen on this article, Avigdor Lieberman is not the US senator Joe Lieberman, Avigdor is Israeli mister of defence, so before you post get your facts right.

11 .  Lieberman for MK
I suggest Lieberman renounce his American citizen and take up residence in Israel, where he can run for MK and represent his real constituents. Its quite clear this traitor could not care less about the American people or American interests.

12 .  Blessing genocide?
So nice of the US & EU to give their blessings to Israel to commit one of the most heinous & disastrous adventures in history. Do they need to wonder what fuels the terrorism aimed at them?

I am just hoping that my family will somehow survive this latest criminal act.

PS: BTW Joe, Iranians are NOT Arabs!

It is due to this general lack of information about the world that has allowed the US to be hijacked into a semi-fascistic state in which the population has no voice.
