Israelis want Olmert removed

A recently conducted public opinion poll showed that a majority of Israelis believe Prime Minister Ehud Olmert should be suspended or removed from office due to the numerous corruption investigations against him.

Some 55 percent of the 1,000 Israelis polled by the Ma'agar Mohot survey company said that under present circumstances, Olmert could not continue to serve as the nation's leader.

A 53 percent majority of respondents said they believe Olmert's primary motivation for going to the upcoming US-hosted peace summit with the intention of surrendering Israel's biblical heartland is to save his own political skin. Even 40 percent of respondents from Olmert's own Kadima party agreed with that assertion.

Sixty-five percent of those polled said Olmert would go to the Annapolis gathering without a public mandate to make sweeping land concessions to the Palestinians.

I agree with you... also Fred Thomson is also another good canidate..And Benjamin Netanyahu should be the next P.M of Israel..At least he stands by where Israel should be and not fall into pressure from Bush or the rest of his anti Israel stance and the rest of the worlds view..

ONLY HONEST & CAPABLE CANDIDATE

The only Candidate in our 2008 elections that is honest, trustable, capable and qualified is Gov. Mike Huckabee of Arkansas. Seems Netanyahu is the right man to follow Olmert.....but, God''s will be done.

Bill & Hill Did It!

Yes, it is very conceivable that Olmert is distracting the public focus from his own many corruptions by plowing into the very deep waters of Annapolis. After all, Bill and Hill did it between ''92 & 2000, repeatedly. Scandal after scandal after scandal came from their corrupt leadership and they found ways to get the public eye off their scandals and on to other major political battles. This is a tool of their survival to remain in leadership office. What should concern us all is why Americans and Israelis would vote for more and more and more of their (Bill, Hill, Olmert) evil corruptness!

Constant changing of the guards doesnt accomplish anything

I dont live in Israel but the people that do say he is corrupt. I have been alive long enough to have seen so many PM come and go without accomplishing anything. How do you suppose that a PM could state his intentions and then follow thru after election? I am asking for opinions. Is it that a party gets elected and not a person? I see this happen in other countrys but not to this extreme. Isnt there something that could make Omert do what the "whole" country wants, like take a hard line and not give ANYTHING AWAY? Somebody from Israel, please tell me how this government communicates so poorly and then doesnt follow thru with their pre-elected promises? Please tell me- the hebrew lovin american.

He should be removed from office...He lost his true vision of what Israel should be and has changed his views what he said yrs ago about Jerusalem as the CAPITAL OF ISRAEL

I read israel news every day and I had Olmert pegged months ago. He is weak with no backbone to protect Israel. I love your country and want nothing but good for you country. I wish one day to take a trip to the Holy Land of Yeshua, and God. People I know have gone there and come back renewed. God will direct you in the right direction if you listen.!!!

phill that staement was 100% on the spot and totally true, people of israel should of relisezed long ago that olmert was a schmuck, but if it has to be now with this specific case let it be so, aslong as the jews take back control of there country and be prepared to fight for the holy land that was given to them, our brothers an sisters, and for our G-d for whom he gave us the land and should never be given away to anyone but us, for anyyreason!!!!!

Olmert and his removal

I think the Lord Himself is going to see to Olmert''s removal from office, neither in anger nor in battle the Lord said through the prophet Daniel.
Perhaps his prostate cancer???? I am sure I don''t know.

Corruptions investigatioins? What about his political decisions? I find it scary that THIS is what is motivating people to lose faith in Olmert.

His actions have clearly been cowardly and suicidal for the survival of the State of Israel.

I did email a cousin who is a Sabra and lives in Israel and did not get much of a coherent response on this issue.

It seems the Israeli people are far too complacent with their government, perhaps worse then here in the US. Difference is that in Israel their very survival in a much more immediate manner is hinging on what the government does or does not do in their defense.
