Israel tries to lure Israelis back

Israel's Immigration Absorption Ministry on Sunday launched a new campaign titled "Bring Israelis Back Home," which will focus the bulk of the ministry's resources over the next year on convincing the estimated 700,000 Israelis who today live abroad to return home.

Eighty-five percent of the Israelis who have left Israel live in America and Europe, and so the campaign will aim to assure them that they can return to Israel without lowering their standard of living. Higher paying job opportunities is what draws most of those Israelis who can obtain foreign work visas to leave the Jewish state.

Israel Radio reported on Saturday that the results of a new survey conducted by Bar Ilan University warned of a process of rapid assimilation among Israelis who leave Israel for America and Europe.
