Palestinian terrorists operating out of the Gaza Strip fired seven rockets at the battered southern Israel town of Sderot on Wednesday. One woman was treated for shock following the attack.

Another rocket was fired early Wednesday morning, but did not clear the Gaza security fence and exploded in Palestinian-controlled territory.

Gaza-based Palestinians fired 11 rockets and a handful of mortar shells at towns and military installations in southern Israel on Tuesday. All of the rockets and mortars landed in open areas and failed to cause damage or injuries.

The intense Tuesday barrage prompted a series of Israeli air strikes on Gaza terrorists. Earlier in the week, Israel's cabinet aimed to boost defenses in the south of country by approving funding for the "Iron Dome" missile defense system which is capable of intercepting short-range Palestinian rockets.

In other violence, Israel's Ynet news portal reported that a young Israeli man was nearly lynched on Tuesday after accidentally entering the Palestinian-controlled town of Ramallah.

A resident of the Greater Tel Aviv area, the man made use of his GPS system to guide him home after a day of work in northern Jerusalem. But the navigation device mistakenly directed him to nearby Ramallah, where the kippa-wearing Jewish man quickly found himself surrounded by hostile Arabs after getting stuck in traffic.

After stealing his cellphones and GPS, the local Arabs began pelting the man's vehicle with stones. At the last moment, two Arabs from eastern Jerusalem pulled the man from his car and helped him run to a nearby Israeli army checkpoint.
