There are 3 types of temples to consider when reading about the temple of God. 1:refers to the natural (Solomon’s temple) 2:Refers to the Saints (Ye are the temple of the Holy Ghost) 3: God and the Lamb (His Word) (Rev. 21:22). As you well know there are many “teachers” of the Word of God. They express themselves to be the disciples of God and then they condone sin. I assume the best example I can give is this. A Pastor Priest Rabbi or ordinary “Christian” telling another person that a homosexual in their present state (not turning from their sins and following God) are ok. They are a “temple” for the man of sin to express himself as God but in reality it is satan who has changed himself into an angel of light and his ministers into angels of light.

In this particular chapter it refers to the building of the 2nd temple which was made unto the Messiah. This takes in some of the 70 week period spoken of in Daniel. Ezra and Nehemiah went up and worked on the rebuilding of the temple. As is stated in Daniel 9:25 concerning the temple would be built "even in troublous times". Also note in verse one where it says that it was in the 25 yr of our captivity and the fourteenth yr after the city was smitten. Ezekiel was shown the 2nd temple which we now know has been destroyed. We the saints are the new temple of God made without the sound of an hammer or saw.

So, if the temple isn''t rebuilt, how can he sit in it, and shew himself that he is God?

I agree the Jews are blinded to Jesus. It''s after the time of the Gentiles (which we are in now which came into effect after the resurrection of Christ) that the Jews become the head and not the tail which occurs after Jesus steps in. Hi Stephen, It is true, Jesus is the only atonement required for one to have eternal life. But, you have to remember, that it is the Jews who will be rebuilding their temple. And they have been blinded until the fulness of the Gentiles come in. And so yes, they will rebuild the temple, and will also be preforming animal sacrifices. Because, as long as, they are blinded, they do not know Jesus as the Messiah. And that, is their way of worshipping God. According to this theology the temple will be ok for 3.5 yrs before the man of sin is to take over.
