Israeli Supreme Court rules in favor of Messianic Jews

The following is a press release issued by Jerusalem Institute for Justice co-founder Calev Meyers:

In a landmark decision this week, the Supreme Court of Israel ratified a settlement between twelve Messianic Jewish believers and the State of Israel, which states that being a Messianic Jew does not prevent one from receiving citizenship in Israel under the Law of Return or the Law of Citizenship, if one is a descendent of Jews on one's father's side (and thus not Jewish according to halacha).

This Supreme Court decision brought an end to a legal battle that has carried on for two and a half years. The applicants were represented by Yuval Grayevsky and Calev Myers from the offices of Yehuda Raveh & Co., and their legal costs were subsidized by the Jerusalem Institute of Justice.

All twelve of the applicants were denied citizenship solely based on grounds that they belong to the Messianic Jewish community. Most of them received letters stating that they would not receive citizenship because they "commit missionary activity". One of the applicants was told by a clerk at the Ministry of Interior that because she "committed missionary activity", she is "acting against the interests of the State of Israel and against the Jewish people". These allegations are not only untrue, but they also do not constitute legal grounds to deny one's right to immigrate to Israel.

This important victory paves the way for persons who have Jewish ancestry on their father's side to immigrate to Israel freely, whether or not they belong to the Messianic Jewish community. This is yet another battle won in our war to establish equality in Israel for the Messianic Jewish community just like every other legitimate stream of faith within the Jewish world.

7 .  Thats what I thought, you can''t.
Nor would you be able to prove anyone today could fulfill the prophecies that Jesus already did. It''s impossible, that is why you run from the questions, and are boxed in to what others say about God, per the websites you post. You depend on others to break it down for you.You don''t have intimacy with the Lord. But you can, if you have faith in Him. One day soon, the whole world will see the one who is God. He is Yeshua/Jesus, and I am not ashamed to proclaim His name.

9 .  I can''t seem to find the bloodline of David
there. Can you point me to a place where I may find them please? There simply must be detailed records somewhere since this individual as you say, is not Jesus. There must be irrifutable evidence so that when he comes, the Messiah, there will be no question of who he is. A rabbi or synagogue or some office of authority must have these records, to dispell any false infiltrator. Can you please show me where I may find them?

The “substitutionary atonement” refers to the fact that Jesus Christ died on behalf of all sinners. The Scriptures teach that all men are sinners (read Romans 3:9-18 and Romans 3:23). The penalty for our sinfulness is death. Romans 6:23 reads, “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

How can the Messiah die and yet afterward have his days prolonged? The Messiah was raised from the dead. He did not see corruption.

WHY WOULD GOD COMMAND THE JEWS TO MAKE SACRIFICES
IN THE TEMPLE FOR THEIR SINS and yet after Jesus died upon the cross, as prophesied in Isaiah 53, the Jews have no place to fulfill this obligation no Temple for over 1900 years? How can sin be atoned for today? Leviticus 17:11 says, "it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul."

The Bible tells us of a day coming when ALL of Israel will recognize Jesus as their Messiah. They shall look at the scars from His pierced feet and hands and realize that He is their Messiah for He shall rescue them from their enemies who will try to destroy Jerusalem at the end of the age. The Lord will rescue Israel from the antichrist and the armies of the world. Consider the words the Lord speaks in Zechariah:

What many of the Jewish leaders of Jesus'' day forgot is that God is concerned with man''s sin first and foremost. God is always concerned with the spiritual condition of man because sin cannot be allowed in God''s presence. Though God loves His creation, sinful man cannot approach a Holy God. Therefore it was prophesied in the Hebrew Scriptures that Messiah would "bare the iniquities" of man and reconcile him back to God.

Why did many of the Jewish leaders of Jesus'' day reject Him? We must remember that the Jews, in Jesus'' day, wanted Jesus to deliver them from the Romans. They wanted a physical deliverance from their enemies. Many Jewish people, today, expect the very same thing a physical salvation from their enemies- the Arabs, etc...

It was prophesied in Isaiah that the Messiah would be despised and rejected of men.

Messiah was prophesied to come to Israel, as her King, 483 years from the time of the decree to restore and rebuild Jerusalem along with its wall of fortification.

Daniel predicted that Messiah''s death had to happen BEFORE the destruction of Israel’s second temple (which was destroyed by Rome in
A.D. 70). Any person claiming to be the Messiah after Jerusalem’s destruction in 70 CE does not meet the BIBLICAL requirement.

You seem awfully determined to disprove Yeshua as the Messiah. If you would bow before the Lord God and ask Him to show you the truth, your time might just be better spent repenting and worshiping the true God and His son, Yeshua. He is shown in the whole Bible, from Genisis 1:1. He is the alef & tav, the alpha and omega, the beginning and th end.....Bereshit bara Elohim ET .......I haven''t yet seen anything from you disputing Isaiah 53, by the way, but then I am fairly new to this so maybe you defamed these scriptures as well. I pray that the God of Abraham will take the scales from your eyes before it is too late.

38 .  Rosanne: Jesus IS from the Tribe of Judah
Mary being from that Tribe connects Him as the Tribe. The Seed is different with Jesus, His Seed is from the Father, which makes Him the Son of God.
Jesus, if bloodline could be defined here as AN EXAMPLE, God the Father is the lineage that the Son came from. His mother makes Jesus associated with the tribe of Judah, therefore filling the prophecy written, saying He would be of the Tribe of Judah, the Lion. Abraham carried the seed of Levy in his loins this is stated in Hebrews 7:10 and this is why Abraham gave a tenth to keep the Levy seed in the fullness of the Law God ordained that tribe into. Our God is good and perfect in all that He does. Amen The bloodline comes through the man as God designed it. Amen

l. You should know that ''almah'' does mean ''a young woman'' from Isaiah 7:14, but a ''young woman'' w/an impeccably unsullied reputation. Further, the Septuagint prepared 200yrs before Yeshua''s birth, used the Greek word ''parthenos, meaning ''virgin'' for the reason of clarity on this point, as used in Mattityahu 1:23.
2. You are sorely in error to use Christianity in the same sentence w/its counterfeit. The two are worlds apart in following Yeshua!. Christianity stands for love your neighbor. Islam stands for kill your neighbor.
3. Granted, the Christian Bible does make some translation errors, but this is not one of them!

Not so quick on that thought Ezekiel. Yeshua was Jewish! Yeshua''s virgin mother was Jewish. Yeshua''s Father was God....His seed was planted by the Holy Spirit. Yeshua''s earthly father Joseph was of the pure Jewish blood of David, but Joseph was not Yeshua''s biological father. But, Yeshua was Jewish. Interesting is it not.?

but had different mothers. This is why Abraham told their captors that Sarah was his sister, which was truth.... Your right they were both Jewish blood. And Ishmael is also of Jewish blood, the same as Issac, only God made different covenants with them. Ishmael seed has been the sword against his brother Gen 16:12 that God has used for this purpose. My son who is jewish married a gentile woman with two children from another father, the son my son had is jewish blood and when His son has children they will be jewish only the male passes the seed. Unless the woman marries a jewish man the bloodline stop with her. This has upset many jewish women who have married outside their race. I think you have misunderstood the words of Jesus! You refer to Jesus speaking to those present with Him when he was on earth [John 6:44,65].
Later He says, "And I, if I be lifted up, I will (future tense) draw ALL to myself" [John 12:32]. Here He speaks of " all " being drawn by Him AFTER His crucifixion, death, buriel and resurrection. He drew you and me and every other believer to Himself . This statement is His promise which excludes nobody [unless you are a Calvinist of course!]
