Israeli envoy slams mounting British bias

Israeli Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Ron Proser, wrote in an opinion piece published by London's Daily Telegraph on Tuesday that Britain is increasingly becoming a "hotbed for radical anti-Israeli views."

Proser blasted growing calls in Britain for a one-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict whereby millions of so-called Arab "refugees" would be allowed to flood the lands between the Jordan River and Mediterranean Sea and demographically destroy the Jewish state.

What frustrated Proser even more, however, was the increasing apathy and even hostile indifference among British leaders and academics when presented with ideas clearly designed to bring about Israel's demise.

The envoy blamed the phenomenon on severely biased coverage of the conflict by the British media, noting that "Israel's military reaction to the attacks it faces is given in depth, microscopic coverage. Yet the attacks to which Israel is responding are often ignored."

Proser complained that "the average British citizen is painfully unaware that since Hamas seized control of Gaza last year, 1,400 rockets and 1,500 mortar bombs have landed on Israeli soil."
