Iran: Tel Aviv will be ruins

A senior Iranian official on Tuesday told state-run media that Tel Aviv will be obliterated if either Israel or the US dare to launch a military strike against Iran's nuclear facilities.

"The Zionist regime is pressuring the White House to attack Iran. If such a stupid act were undertaken, Tel Aviv and the American ships in the Persian Gulf would be our first targets and would be burnt to ruins," warned Ali Shirazi, an assistant to supreme Iranian leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Over the past month, both the US and Israeli militaries have conducted massive exercises believed to have simulated strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities and maneuvers to defend against any Iranian retaliation.

Despite those preparations, Israeli officials have acknowledged that Israel would be unable to actually launch an attack on Iran without a green light from Washington, as Israeli planes would have to fly through Iraqi airspace controlled by the US military.

According to a former Pentagon official and leading US military analyst, the White House recently made very clear to Israel that that green light has not been given, and likely won't be given during the final months of the Bush Administration.

Speaking to gathered Israeli defense analysts at Israel's Institute of National Security Studies on Monday, Prof. Anthony Cordesman said that reining in Israel was the primary purpose behind the recent visit by Chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, Adm. Mike Mullen.

Cordesman, who is today the top defense analyst for the ABC television network, said that Mullen was sent by the White House to make it clear to Israel that the US is sticking to a policy of diplomacy vis-a-vis Iran, and that is not expected to change before the next US president takes office.

Former US Ambassador to the United Nations, John Bolton believes that puts Israel in an impossible situation.

Jerusalem is increasingly convinced that Iran will acquire nuclear weapons in the absence of military intervention by Israel or the US. But Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama has indicated that if he is elected, he will take the military option for dealing with Iran off the table.

If Obama wins the presidential election in November, Israel will know that it has less than two months to hit Iran, or have its greatest existential nightmare come true, Bolton told a leading British newspaper last month.

Yes it''s true pretrib teachers have convinced many- without actually encouraging them to really search the comparative scriptures about the Day of The Lord.It''s almost as though there is a spiritual force behind this tendency to stick rigidly to that view without being able to support it entirely from scipture but rather with the usual few statements always quoted in favour of it.

your sense of humor! However,I don''t think it is about oil, but rather about the battle between God and Satan (aka the God of Abraham, Issac & Jacob verses allah/satan).
I feel sorry for you having to fill fuel tanks at the prices we are shelling out now. I know I am driving about 10 miles under the speed limit most times in order to get better mileage. It seems to add about 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 miles per gallon as long as the wind isn''t bad, and there''s not a lot of stop & go. We''re thinking about a sub compact, but of course the savings in fuel wouldn''t make the car payment we would have to pay. Got any oil hiding under Montana???

....before I heard of Messianic Judaism. But there were other issues with this guy. He would practically drag people to the front to "get saved", babtize them, and all that, then he stated that it was his job to babtize them, but their salvation was between them and the Lord. Now, my Bible teaches that water babtisim is to FOLLOW being saved as an act of obedience! Oh well, guess he will have some"up-comins" coming to him one of these days. God bless, and I''ll be looking for your posts in many articles to come!

I don''t know if yu are still going to this issue of the news letter, but in case you are, thanks for your perspective of the end time events. I can see where you are coming from, and if you are correct, what a blesing that would be, to be called home earlier than my beliefs hve led me. And it does make sense. I guess we will just have to see what happens when the time comes, won''t we? I am going to get into some more indepth study on the matter, comparing Matthew 24 to the judgements, etc. The pastor of a church I used to attend a number of years ago was so adamantely pre-trib, and couldn''t even entertain the thought that maybe we would be going through the trib that I just couldn''t sit there any longer. He always said that Matthew was written to the Jews. My argument with that was that Jesus was speaking to His followers, not the masses, and another issue for me at that time was just exactly how the Jews were going to read this in a Christian Bible. This was before I ever heard of Messianic Judi

Dear Tel Aviv,
I had my ranch fuel storage tanks filled today here in Montana.
Please go ahead and get it over with so we have more room in the headlines to read about celebrities .

Once you get China''s oil and India''s oil turned off , please let them know that we would appreciate it, if they kept quiet about it.

Pleas let me know if there will be any opportunities to open a Chinese resturant/ massage parlor in Jerusalem for the Red Guard.

6 .  Seventh trumpet of Judgment / Wrath
The seven trumpets of Seal 7 are not sounded until after the Elect are removed from the earth in Seal 6 & after that sombre period of silence in Heaven. They signify aspects of Gods'' righteous judgment on the unrepentant of the earth.
The seventh one indicates the end of God''s Wrath and proclaims the rule and reign of King Jesus!
Just like the other six trumpets of Judgment / Wrath this seventh trumpet is decribed as'' the seventh angel sounded'' and never as The Trump of God or The Last Trump Shalom & Blessings.

7 .  Carol re chronology of Revelation
Hi again Carol

In my view the whole of Revelation has to be understood in the context of the chronology of Matthew 24. The Seven Seals of the Scroll of the Lamb indicate chronological events in line with Jesus'' explanation in Matt 24.
Within The Book of Revelation there is an outlined repeat of these events and an overview from slightly different perspectives but the chronological unfolding of the endtime scenario remains the same . As depicted in Seals 1-7 endtime events occur in order like the chapters of a book...
from the coming of the antichrist to the outpouring God''s Judgment and Wrath which culminates in Armaggedon and the final battle with Satan et al.

It''s a valid point re the last trump! Here''s how I see it-
THE Last Trump is the fianl great blast which indicates The Return of the Lord & precedes the ingathering of the Elect at the Rapture. It is called LAST because it indicates The END of the Gospel Age. and The End of this world system.
The removal of the Elect [as in the days of Noah] is immediately followed by The Judgment and ensuing Wrath of God poured out as the Consummation referred to by Daniel. Judgment and Wrath are synonymous.

Since the rapture is at the LAST trumpet, how do you explain when the other trumpets occurred, except that they were the first 6 trumpet judgements? Rev 8:7 is the 1st trumpet and says nothing of being a part of the wrath of God. the same goes for trumpets 2,3 4, & 5. The 6th trumpet angel releases those bound at the river Euphrates. The 7th trumpet, Rev 10:7 says that the mystery of God is finished. The book of Rev. is not written chronologically.
It seems that some of the seals and trumpets are identical to each other, and could perhaps be occuring at the same time. But, nevertheless, as I Corinthians 15:51-52 states, the raputure occurs at the LAST trumpet. There is no way that I can see around that. In order for it to be the last trumpet, others will have had to occur beforehand. God bless you and all.

You expressed some good thoughts below except that I believe it does actually make a differece how we interpret the prophetic Word.
I think GOD gave specific revelation to Daniel and John & other prophets
so that we could be specifically aware of the unfolding of events - re the end time scenario so that The Day of The Lorddoes not overtake us unawares.

My view in short...
The Tribulation is depicted by the Four Horsemen and the death &havoc they wreak... caused by Satan and occurring under Seals 1-4 of The Scroll of The Lamb.
The Seven Angels with the Seven Trumpets and the Seven Vials or Bowls depict the Wrath of God and are depicted Under the 7th Seal of the Scroll .
Seal 5 = the cry of the Martyrs.
Seal 6= The Rapture

Scripture indicates 12,000 from each tribe of Israel wil be sealed . and kept- under God''s protection & ultinmately raptured with the rest of the Body of Christ. The protection of the chosen of Israel for 1,260 days [symbolised as the offspring of the Woman of Rev 12] I believe is a literal place of safety prepared for Israel by God during the tribulation -possibly Petra in Jordan.
The antichrist then goes after the saints described as those who hold to the testimony of Jesus Rev 12:17

I see it the same way AD ...
ie the 7 Trumpets are part of the Wrath of God with the 7 Vials / Bowls. and BOTH are depicted after the trib and after the rapture in REV 8 under the seventh seal of the Book of The Lamb.

14 .  God''s Judgement
In the Bible, we read the ancient names of Magog and dozens of other nations on which God''s jugement is specifically prophesied.
Walid Shoebat correctly points out that every one of these original areas [names and boundaries have changed over the millenia] IS NOW A MUSLIM STATE [or part of one]. This was not the case until AFTER the new State of Israel came into being in 1948.
That should make us look at the Scriptures again and re-assess what we have been taught about Rome, China and even the good ole US of A!
It should also point us to where the Antichrist will come from.
Something to think and pray about!

15 .  The conflict between true faith and religion..since Adam.
Sometimes a cartoon of a thing can be clearer than a finished artist''s painting.

Post, pre, what does it matter if we are IN HIM. His body, of course, is what He will return in, and what is it that the true Chrurch is called? His body.

That is not just an empty concept, it is the truth. And how do our feet move us from one place to another? By the coordination between the feet, and the head. All impulses and commands travel to every part...from the head.

So, my feet go nowhere without the commands from the head. My heart beats, my eyes see, all of me is governed by the head.

So is the body of Christ. He is the Head, and without His Spirit we were dead, and in Him we are complete.

We are not to be independant from Him, or DOUBLE MINDED, which is a misnomer...those who are double-minded are believing IN Jesus Christ, but are led by the spirit of the flesh and the world.

How to prepare? Ask Him, with Whom we have to do. He lets us know.

Another view I heard from a study of the end times is that the judgements do not necessairly come in the order John put them, but more like a "concert", if you will, if you notice, some of the judgements are pretty much identical, like the sun & moon being darkened for one. They gave an explaination as to why John wrote them as he did, but can''t remember it exactly at the moment. They also tied in the Old testament prophecies such as Daniel, Zech, Zeph, & especially Joel. It was really interesting, and made a lot of sense. God bless!!

Yes, the Trib will be a learning experience for all of us. We will just have to wait on the Lord & depend on Him to see us through however much we must go through. As for the judgements, in my Bible (NASB) the bowl judgements are refered to as the bowls of wrath. as and are listed in Ch 16. The trumpets and seals are spoken of as judgements. Kristin, when you speak of the remnant of Israel being sealed &raptured, are you speaking of the 144,000? Or are you speaking of Israel being taken to a place of saftey where they will be nourished, etc? I believe that the place of nourishment for Israel is here on earth & that God will protect them there. I believe there is one rapture that comes w/ thr ressurection, then after trib & 1000 yrs the ressur. to death of the lost. But as I said before, none of know for sure what God has planed for us, but we can rest assured that He will see us through to the end.

When Satan is realeased after the Millennium[Rev 20] he goes out to decieve the nations IN THE FOUR CORNERS OF THE EARTH - AKA GOG AND MAGOG -
It seems to me that the four courners[ as opposed to from the north] of the earth indicates all of the rest of mankind ie Noah''s named descendants who repopulated the earth.
These are possibly the ones who who were not redeemed/ raptured from the FOUR WINDS - as depicted in Matt 24 and are therefore not ruling with Christ in the Millennium so are now ripe for joining Satan in his final rebellion against the Lord and the Camp of the Saints Rev 20:9

Hi Magend.. As I see it the Northern Alliance of Ezekiel 38/ 39 is a combination of specifically named nations constituting..
A Russian / Arab Alliance.
Some of these named peoples are decendants of Noah as indicated in Genesis 10 and they settled to these Northern areas.

but I have heard of it.
None of us can truly know how bad the tribulation will be, we do know what the Lord has told us, and it won''t be pretty.
Antichrist is being allowed by God in order to purify Israel and bring the nations to judgement.
We know that when he is revealed he will come in as a man of peace, with so much charisma that the world and most importantly Israel will be fooled by him and accept him. He will come to complete autonomy rule.
I could go further into this Carol but I''m reluctant to start an all out argument which always descends into nastiness and name calling, so I''ll leave it there.

. Ch 8 tells us that when the Seventh Seal is opened ..
''there was silence in heaven for about half and hour''
The SEVENTH SEAL of The BOOK OF THE LAMB describes the onset of God''s Wrath.
THE SILENCE IS IN MARKED CONTRAST TO THE LOUD PRAISE OF THE REDEEMED MULTITUDE WHICH PRECEDES IT.
THE AWESOME SILENCE INDICATES THE END OF THE DAY OF GRACE.... GOD''S WRATH IS ABOUT TO FALL ON THE WORLD.

Chapter 7 then informs us that God''s Wrath is about to be poured out on the Earth but God DELAYS the outpouring of HIS WRATH until AFTER... THE RAPTURE which takes then takes immediately after those great cosmic signs in the heaven ! Ch 7 indicates this as follows
The remnant of Israel is sealed and raptured they are described as the first fruits FROM THE EARTH [see also Rev14]
Then the rest of the Mutitude which cannot be numberd is referred to -this the rest of the raptured saints who are depicted in heaven too FOLLOWING THE RAPTURE &IMMEDIATELY PRIOR TO THE WRATH BEING HELD BACK-
REV 7:14 these are the ones which came out of the Great Tribulation

- about the timing of the Rapture it is ''immediately after the tribulation of those days'' and before The Wrath of God begins. I think though that the seven trumpets are the beginnings of God''s Wrath amd the bowl judgments complete it.
Revelation 6: decribes the cosmic disturbances referred to by Yeshua in Matt 24 .... Verse 17 says The Great Day of His Wrath has Come.

I think we all know that the times seem to be close to His coming.
Too many things are coming into view. Like Annie, we don''t know if we will live to see them or not.
But, we can certainly live as if we expect too! Right Annie?
So in light of that, I want my heart clean and pure, and my focus on things that matter. I want to be faithful in telling others about Jesus.
And I want to be prepared to meet any potential needs within my ability.
Though I am not one to live in fear, I do think it may be wise to prepare for short term emergencies .
Living in Fl, I am now preparing for storms. It is miserable when the power goes off for even a few days. It helps to have some good snacks on hand!

was just a story. There are people who have read these books, though, who don''t have the knowledge of Scripture that most of us at this site have been blessed with. For these people, there are things in this series that are misleading. I don''t believe the Trib is going to be as bad as the books portray. The antichrist will be evil, and he will wreak havoc on the world, but do you really think he will be as all consuming as he would like to be? And what about the end of the series, people were worrying about MONEY for transportation to Israel??? GIVE ME A BREAK!!! We''ll have our transportation - provided by the Lord HIMSELF! But I digress (I''m good at that...)

I Corinthians 15:51-52: "Behold I tell you a mystery we shall not al sleep, but we shall all be changed, (52) in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the LAST TRUMPET for the trumpet will sound, & the dead in Chist will be raised imperishable, & we shall be changed." If this is the LAST trumpet, when were the previous ones? They were the trumpet judgements of the Tribulation. True, God has not appointed us to wrath, but His wrath is the bowl judgements, not the seals, or trumpets. God will protect us through these judgements, and after that the rapture and resurrection, only then will He pour out His wrath on the rest of mankind. He will destroy every living thing by fire at that time, then we will have the new Jerusalem coming down from heaven and dwell with Jesus there for 1000 years. Praise God!!

31 .  About that Left Behind series,
I read the whole series just because I got caught up in the characters. There is a lot offalse teaching in it, though. For one, is the timing of the rapture. I am very much a post tribber, for one thing. Another is that the actual Great Tribulation is, according to Daniel among other scriptures, 42 months. That is 3 1/2 years, not seven. Jesus said in Matthew 24 that He would return on the clouds for His people immediately after the tribulation of those days. II Thes 1:3 "Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day (Jesus'' return) shalll NOT come except there come a falling away first & that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition (4) who opposeth & exalteth himself above all tht is called God, or that is worshiped so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God shewing himself that he is God.

Hi Ellie, I believe spiritually, of course our faith in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour, is what''s most important. And for Charles and I, to stay in church with the support of our church family, and to show our support to them as long as we possibly can. And also posting on here with all of you, our brothers and sisters in Christ, has been a spiritual blessing. We of course , have been talking about our plans of where to go, if we have to leave our home. And we have been buying, and storing some food. We''ll have an alternative plan worked out, and when worse comes to worse, we will have faith in Jesus Christ to get us through it. God bless you.

Hi Jim, we aren''t one of those who believe, that we are in the tribulation yet. Although, we believe it could be very soon. And I am going to be prepared, for an iimmenent (pre-trib) return of the Lord. Just as, I''m going to be prepared to endure, for 3 and a half yrs. of the tribulation (mid-trib). And your right, the best points we can make is by searching the scriptures. God bless, and love in Christ to you.

I wish the US was a more Christian nation and that we turned toward God more as a whole. I actually wouldn''t mind closer relations between church and state. But my biggest issue isn''t Israel because I personally don''t believe that the modern state of Israel is God''s doing - perhaps even the opposite. There are a lot of good and faithful people in Israel and of course God cares about them, but God cares about all of us equally. It doesn''t make sense to me that a nation so bereft of virtue (from my perspective) can possibly mean more to God than another nation of greater faith and morality (not the US anymore, but there are a few). By worrying more about the economy and the war I am caring about my own country and my own people more than modern-day Israel and its inhabitants, which is somewhat nationalistic, I suppose, but I don''t see any harm in that, especially if God does not support modern-day Israel.

You are correct. The timing of the rapture has nothing to do with one''s salvation and is nothing to divide over. The reason most on this site revert to end times thought is that the articles relate to endtimes (ie, Iran,Israel: Irans'' plan to destroy Israel etc.) Maybe the AC will come from the east (East Texas!?!). Everybody has their candidate for the office of AC. Only God knows at this point. We should rebuke heresies and doctrinal error (serious!). Minor disagreements are just that: MINOR.

I agree with your words, but what I hoped to find in the responses, is how believers are staying on course, what you do as a Christian to keep you strong what helps you the most? What feeds your soul? And in practical matters, are you doing anything that seems wise to some, such as keep a food pantry, water, etc in case of some national disaster, which we hope never comes. God bless your life.

Greetings in Christ! In Eschatology I am in ageement with Christine and Ellie. In spirit I am in agreement with you, Charles and your son. We DO need to be prepared for anything. I believe the coming of the Lord is IMMENENT{pretrib}. However, some believe we are presently IN the first 3 1/2 period of tribulation. I doubt it, but you all make some good points! The best point is SEARCH THE SCRIPTURES. All my love, Jim.

i visited a church last year because the minister was doing a 14 week series on revelation. The first thing he told us was that more churches have split over this one book in the Bible than for any other reason. As i read the posts in IT i can see he must have had his facts right. It seems no matter what the subject is, instead of staying on subject, the posts always go back to end times and the Antichrist.
What does it matter...no one will no for sure until the actual end times come. Are we caught up before or in the middle? Is the Antichrist from Babylon, the EU or is it President Bush, Clinton, Reagan, the Pope.

My hope comes in Jesus. So also when you see these signs, all taken together, coming to pass, you may know of a surety that He is near, at the very door. I am older and don''t know how much of this I will see when I will be called home. For me and for those I love, I tell DO NOT be friends of the world do not put your faith and trust in the world. That has always been our charge. Seek the Lord and His kingdom. He will guide us where He wants us for His purpose. My hope is in Him. He has my life in the palm of His hand. He is almighty nothing is too hard for Him. My life is such at this point that regardless of the circumstance of the world, it is totally dependent on Him. As it should be in good times or bad. Know His voice and obey. Praise God. Things are to get worse but with each passing day we are that much closer to His return. Jesus, Jesus, Jesus. He is my hope.

Joyce, that is the right spirit! I am in the same view as Christine G but the important thing is that we be ready!
I am interested in what the believers in Jesus feel is most important in being ready, in view of the world today, and all the possible threats facing us .
What are you all doing, based on your faith, to give you strength to stay strong spiritually?
How are you preparing for possible hard times ahead, yet remain living stones for His church? ( 1 Pet: 2:5)
We are seeing our economy falling, families losing homes, and issues that will influence the outcome of the elections.

I go to church, my son is my Pastor, and he preaches the Word of God. And he also encourages the congregation to read their Bibles. There are still some churches with Pastors who preach God''s Word. He has believed in the pre-trib rapture, but he also has to admit that there is scripture to support a mid-trib rapture, and he has preached about it, and he feels that we should be prepared, for whatever may happen.

President Bush as the anti-christ is a hard pill to swallow. It seems too many people dislike him. He says that he is a born-again believer. He has spent the last 8 yrs living in a city in the US which has become like the pit of hell. It is swallowed up by evil. I believe in demonic spirits being invited into a place. How many were invited into the White House by the actions of the previous administration? Did anyone go into the building and drive these spirits out. Few can imagine the pressure on anyone who works out of the Oval Office. It is easy to throw stones. We are told much about the coming anti-christ. Is George Bush a brother in Christ or the anti-Christ? It seems it doesn''t matter political views or religious views, he is too disliked to deceive the populace as the anti-christ will do.

To show me where in the Bible it says the AC will come from the East. This is not Biblical. The Bible says he will come from Mystery Babylon. This is America. Provide a Bible verse that shows what you are saying.

Eugene - I do not need or desire anyone to come to my defense. The truth defends itself. And this is the truth. My ultimate point of reference is the Holy Word of God led by the Holy Spirit. There are facts happening in the world that support the prophecy. If one does not know what the Bible says regarding these times, possibly they have witnessed worldly events that prove scripture. All things are being revealed now and one of them is that Bush is the antichrist. There are some that it has been revealed to now, some sooner rather than later, and some will never see it and continue to be deceived.

I was brought up to believe, in a pre-trib rapture. But, I have to say, that it wasn''t until I started reading the Bible for myself, that I changed my views to believe, in a mid-trib rapture. And for those brothers and sisters who believe, that it will be a pre-trib rapture, they have just as much right to their views, as we who believe in a mid-trib. Because we both feel there is scripture to support our views, and we both believe we are right, but we won''t really know for sure, until it actually happens. But I know one thing for sure, even though, I may think, it will be a mid-trib rapture, I hope, and pray, that they are right, and I am wrong. And that is why, I believe, we all should be ready for whatever happens. To be ready, to endure the first half of the tribulation, if need be, but to also, keep our eyes, looking in the skies, for Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour, just to be sure we''re not caught off guard. As for the United States being founded as a Christian nation. You need to read our history. The writings of every one of our founding fathers mentioned that this country was founded as a Christian nation,with Christian principles, and the Ten Commandments as our basis for Law. John Adams stated that the only reason that other religions were allowed or tollerated was because we were a Christian nation and therefore tollerant of others. When the framers of our constitution put in the first ammendment what is refered to as freedom of religion. they were refering to denominations of Christianity. This is obvious also from their writings and was held as so by all court dicisions up until the 1940''s. Which concides with the time that we started turning away from god as a nation. This requires a lot of reading to read all the writings of our founding fathers.

President Bush said you are either with us or against us to the countries that were supporting terror/terrorists. Iraq, Syria, etc. He is not the antichrist..he was born in the US.
The Antichrist is to come from the Roman Empire which is now the EU. He is to set up his kingdom in Babylon which is now Iraq. We, Christians, will be ''caught up'' before this happens. Are there two wars ? That''s a good question . We have left out the time of the Antichrist''s rise to power and deception of the masses. The scriptures talk about the powers of deception that the Antichrist will have or use . One of these powers is to (bring down ) fire from heaven , much like Jesus will send down fire from heaven . Note that Jesus will come in the Clouds to save Israel .
My thoughts are that there will be a similar war that will showcase the protector of Israel bringing fire down on those that come against Israel . Remember that STRONG DELUSION that God will send . Those not steadfast in the Lord and scripture will follow that ENTITY fooled by that deception all the way to the Seat of God . When he presents himself as God in the Seat Of God , he will be revealed to all ( 2nd Thess Chap. 2 ). Daniel 12 9 13 sheds light on what happens then .

We preach Christ and the resurrection!
What happens here are but signs of his coming, and provide a great platform from which to preach Him.
When we get too engrossed in poltical developments, global earth issues etc. we can forget why we are here, and neglect our calling.

But, and I will elaborate on all this more later, Gog/Magog is also Prophesied in Revelations Chapter 20!!! To (take place AFTER the Thousand year reign of Christ!!!)

The Muslim Senator from Illinois that is the Democrat Party Presidential Candidate will most certainly do all possible to contribute to the ruin of Israel. Many in America are extremely frustrated with the anti-Semite attitude in Washington these days.

Iran and its president Im-A-Nut-Job is giving itself MUCH too much credit if it thinks that anything it can do will be a deterrent. God will protect Israel and Iran will be rendered "an ash heap" as is prophesied.
