Report: US about to strike Iran; Tehran warns of World War III

A major Dutch newspaper reported on Monday that the Dutch intelligence agency AIVD recently pulled all of its operatives out of Iran after learning that an American air strike on Iranian nuclear and missile production facilities is imminent.

Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf reported that AIVD had previously been conducting a very successful sabotage operation against Iran's production of medium and long-range missiles.

According to the report, AIVD pulled out of Iran after being warned that the country's missile factories would be among the targets hit by unmanned American bombers "within weeks."

While the report did not mention any potential Israeli involvement in the impending US military strike, Israel's Ma'ariv daily newspaper reported on Friday that Jerusalem had reached a strategic decision to deny Iran nuclear weapons at all costs and by any means.

The Ma'ariv report stated that independent of other efforts by Western powers, Israel had begun preparations for its own possible strike on Iranian nuclear facilities.

Responding to the latest reports, the deputy chief of staff of the Iranian military, General Masoud Jazayeri, said on Saturday that any attack on his nation would result in World War III.

Speaking to Iran's IRNA news agency, Jazayeri warned that in the event of an attack on Iran, Israel and the US "will be eliminated before anything."

1 .  Mike, have you read your Bible?
Read Ezekiel 38 & 39. That is the description of the war that is coming to the middle east. Then read Revelation, Matthew 24, Isaiah, Daniel and Joel. Then see if you still think war can be avoided. Nobody is cheering a neuclear war. It is sad & devistating. Unfortunately, as long as satan rules this world, these things are necessary. They have been prophesied, and they will come to pass in God''a timing and according to His will.
God bless

2 .  Self-Fulfilling Prophecy!
I wonder if the Christian interpretation of end-times is accurate. If not, we might have a lot of Christians cheering on a nuclear exchange that doesn''t have to happen!

7 .  John Calvin
And as long as we force Israel to go against God''s word about dividing the land, He will continue to send clamity down on us. ie: Katrina, Gustav, Andrew, (& don''t forget the new one coming now) flooding in Mississippi River valley, fire, earthquakes, nearly all of the disasters of recent years can be directly corelated to something our government shoved on Israel. Between our "efforts" to bring "peace" to the middle east and abortion, homosexual "rights", tossing God aside in public life and schools and the immorality of Hollywood for example, it''s a wonder He lets us have air to breathe. There truly is no other word for grace but amazing.

I believe it was not a long ago that a Imam called for Arab nations to get the Bomb .
Still the Iranian President said that he was wanted to wipe Israel off the Map , and I do believe that he will try . He just needs some Nukes . One or two to use as EMP weapons on the USA and the others to threaten Israel and surrounding countries . He is an Idiot , do you want a Nuclear Idiot ?

democrat. Muslims are known for lying and that is how they gain thier advantage. You are one gullible perso to make the statement you did! And with the purified U-235 or 238 we could rest assured they wouldn''t use it in WMD''s and especially against Israel! No matter what God will have the Last Word. The whole world can plot against them but God says what only happens!
God Bless Israel!

no never thought about being a plitician, I make too much sense and Im too honest of a person to stoop that low...Im not wasting my time with you Ari, I know your stance on the issues that effect us all...you are lost friend or you are simply here just to stir up trouble like others here just to make a name for yourself and to be different whether you make any sense or not ..I got better things to do....
I guess you also beleive the moon is made of blue cheese too!!!!

Move to Iran Ari....

I think the real question here is. With the trek record of both Saddam and the Amanutjob from Iran, can anyone really afford to take a chance with these regims possessing nuclear weapons or even the materiels to make them?
I beleive that the best defense is a good offense. Why wait to suddenly see a bright light flashing in your windows, and the temperature suddenly rises from 98.6 to 10,000 degree F. and suddenly your skin starts to roll of your body and all the sudden you evaporate into thin air. No with the trek record of these nut cases, I would rather attack and be wrong than not to attack and me dead. Because that is exactly what is the case here... the proof is all in their trek records....nuff said....

14 .  Ari..
As far as I know, the only WMD Iraq ever had was the poison gas that the US sold to them(and that in itself was enough). As we all know Saddam used this gas on the kurds. Iraq was in the developmental stages of "aquiring" WMD. Yellow Cake uranium 700 tons of it was just recently sold to Canada via Iraq.
Several reputable sources (again I havent seen it with my own eyes) even one of Iraqs top generals have confirmed that weeks before the war started huge amounts of equipment and"weapons grade" technologies were smuggled by the iraqi militaria with the help of the Soviets into Syria and Iran, mostly Syria. I assure you the Yellow cake wasnt to manufacture Barbie dolls or lollipops and with Saddams trek record. As far as I am concerned the means to make WMD is the same as having them. If you really think for a minute that their intentions were for peaceful means, then you need a reality check. in fact by now Im sure those weapons or the means and evidence of those weapons are probably back safe in russia

17 .  Israels response 2
Israel needs to strike before November or at the latest January. they are watching this election closely, with Nobama they will get no support from the US, with MCCain they may get support. but lets not forget, Iran is alos looking at this election closely too.. and with whoever is elected, a likewise respose from Israel will result....
I will say it again, if Iran is to be dealt with...it needs to be done before January. Whether or not Israel want US support is another question.
Remember -OLMERT is out in September.....something is brewing folks....

Mark N.   9/2/2008 3:27 PM
18 .  Israel''s response
not saying that this is truth, but have heard so many senerios on how Israel is going to strike Iran. I have heard that their planes are being modified with arresting hooks so that they can land on carriers in the Persian gulf, I have heard that there is a "secret" airbase in iraq that has been built by the US so that the jets can refuel....who knows I do think though something is getting ready to happen......

Mark N.   9/2/2008 3:23 PM
19 .  Iran needs to be dealt with
If either Israel or the US is going to strike Iran, either nation must do it within the next 4 months.
The 2008 elections is having alot to do with the US position on striking Iran. Obama wants us to kiss Irans ass, MCCain from what I take feels that Iran is a dyer threat to the Middle East and Israel.
The NObama voters do not see it this way though...but all in all, this election is about in the end is "the US and foreign policy" and nothing else. its not about the economy, gas prices, health care...this election will be about who is going to stand up for the US and od what it takes to protect her and Israel.....

Mark N.   9/2/2008 3:18 PM
20 .  Israel flight to Tehran
One issue with the US was that Israel had hoped for permission to fly over Iraq, due to the otherwise long flight to go around Iraq, and the need to refuel in in flight. Wouldn''t this add to their vulnerability? You have to slow down to refuel in the air. How many planes would be involved all needing to refuel?
Would this make them sitting ducks for Iran''s AF? I really don''t know, but I have this big picture in my mind that it could.
The US is not going to make public any plans to assist Israel. We will hear it on a news flash if it happens.
I too thought about those Carriers in the Gulf the US has deployed being able to refuel Israel''s planes. The big threats from Tehran came just about that time
WW111, as Apostle wrote.

22 .  The Stage is Being Set...
Sources told me a little over one week ago that US vessels were being deployed to the Persian Gulf...If Israel needed to refuel, it could use a certain vessel in the vicinity to do so...if you know what I mean.
Right now ramadan is in its beginning stages of "celebration"...Islam should be focused on this fact, but they usually use this time to attack Israel or the allied forces in Iraq and Afghanistan...so if they are attacked first by us, we merely beat them to the front line of this battle.
Iran threatens WWIII...they have no chance to win that war. NONE.
Nevertheless, we should pray for protection - for the USA and Israel.

23 .  mankinds situation
The world has no other chance, and isnt it a good one?, but to pray, pray and confess the sins everybody with no erxception.
Everybody should be informed about the second coming of Jesus, the Christ, very soon. But before He comes, there will be wars and all the evil like it was in Sodom and Gomorrha. And no one else can stop the spirit of satan in the world than Jesus alone. Satan knows that his time is running out very soon and he tries anything to destroy mankind and our blue planet.

Albert Paliot   9/2/2008 10:11 AM
24 .  Strike on Iran
the destruction of their nuclair capabilities should be a blessing for the whole world but especially for Israel. The threatening which goes out by her ayalollahs represented by their pres. Amadhinejad gives enough reason to take this threat out.
God bless Israel and protect her against all her enemies.
Shalom from Holland

25 .  To Ari
Oh I see, were supposed to accept your hate mail as the truth, just because you, Ari says it''s true. Well, if I were you, I wouldn''t hold my breath for that to happen. Because that just isn''t going to happen! Go try, and sell your bill of goods someplace else, because we aren''t buying! Sorry!

Joyce W   9/2/2008 5:07 AM
26 .  israel didn''t put the US in Iraq
Pres Bush did that all on his own, because of the WMD''s that were there, which Sadam hustled out before our troops found them. Sure, it was a blessing for Israel. God has a way of doing that!!!
If you weren''t so blinded by your hatred for Israel, you might just see some truth.

Carol   9/2/2008 4:41 AM

nobody here wants to read your hate mail against Israel.

29 .  I would be surprised to find that
Israel did not have planes to refuel in the air. We have had that capability since the 1950''s. With that technology they wouldn''t need to land anywhere to refuel. However, an attack on Iran might well guarantee Israel to be encompased about by her enemies, thus kicking off the tribulation. God bless

Carol   9/1/2008 11:41 PM
30 .  Iran: More Blah, Blah, Blah...
Iran says that Israel and the U.S. "will be eliminated before anything", but any attack on Iran should (and hopefully will) render the country the biblicly described "ash heap" with absoultely no resources for retalitation.

As for Israel needing U.S. help, what does the U.S. have to lose, especially if the Muslim is elected.

Art   9/1/2008 10:20 PM
31 .  Hi Frank regarding US Help
I sure don''t underestimate Israel I know their history, but I have read that they can''t fly the distance there and back without refueling. I had read possiblilites of using The US''s assistance with that. If that problem has been resolved by some means, I have not read about it yet.

Ellie   9/1/2008 10:12 PM
32 .  US to strike Iran
I say, it''s about time somebody does it, before this next election takes place. If this election takes place that is, or if it does take place, whether the results will ever come to fruition, or not. But regardless of that, Iran''s nuclear capabilities need to be stopped.

Joyce W   9/1/2008 10:02 PM
33 .  Bring it on!!!!
I highly agree with Jim and Daniel. But Ellie I think you underestimate Israel''s power. It has one of the strongest air force in the world. And as for having President Bush''s support...hey Israel has the support of all the universes. HE IS ALMIGHTY GOD!!!!! And He has destroyed the enemies of Israel in the past and He will today. As David said in 1Samuel 17:26 speaking about Goliath, "Who is this uncircumcised Philistine that he should taunt the armies of the Living God?" The idiot in Iran and all the other so-called Philistines of this world don''t know who they are messing with. They think all they have to do to win is to destroy Israel"s physical forces. But it''s the forces which are unseen they have no clue as to what they are bring on themselves. Genesis 12:3 "I will bless those that bless thy(the seed of Avraham ie Israel) and I will curse those who curse Israel". Anyway you look at it Yeshua wins and satan has already lost!!!!!

Frank in Israel   9/1/2008 9:16 PM
34 .  Not lying down
Iran will not take any attack lying down and has already decreed retaliation, so if anything is done it has to be fast, hard, comprehensive & detailed Many Muslim countries would secretly appalaud, others would consider it their duty to respond in order to save face

Doug   9/1/2008 9:16 PM
35 .  I could be wrong
but I have always thought that the Bush Administration would play a role in destroying the nuclear plants in Iran before this term ends.
Israel can''t do it without our help. They need someway to refuel their planes. I hope it happens. Its the right thing to do. Time is running out. I agree with Daniel and Jim. Much prayer and faith in God is needed.

Ellie   9/1/2008 8:14 PM
36 .  Iran
Ahmadinajad is awaiting the arrival of the 12th imam, brought about by global war, which he has been engineering. It will not take long for anti-Israel sentiments to heat up around here. Pray for America, Israel, and for the downfall of Ahmadinejad.

Jim Borge   9/1/2008 2:22 PM
37 .  ISRAEL: THE WORLD STAGE
Israel if the world stage will not come to you, than you''ll just have to bring yourselves to them. This strike is necessary for your survival, even though I''m quite certain the United States will only play a supportive roll. I think we are all agreement that this must happen BEFORE the General Election on November 4th.
