Israeli alternative energy company Galten Global is working feverishly to help Israel, the US and other major oil consuming nations reduce and even eliminate their dependency on foreign energy sources.

In an interview with Israel21c, Galten co-founder Doron Levi said that the company's efforts to extract biofuel from the jatropha plant at a 250-acre nursery in the West Africa nation of Ghana are going very well.

The seed of the jatropha plant is about 35 percent oil, which Galten is able to extract using a proprietary method and turn into fuel. The jatropha is an extremely sturdy plant that grows on nearly every continent and is all but impervious to drought and pests.

If tests continue to go well, Levi believes Galten will be able to produce a viable biofuel in about two or three years.
