Criminal charges brought against violent Arab MK

Israel's Attorney General on Sunday finally brought criminal charges against Israeli Arab Knesset Member Mohammed Barakeh, who over the past few years has been involved in numerous violent attacks on Israeli police officers.

The first charge relates to Barakeh's attack on an Israeli riot police officer during a violent demonstration against the Israeli security fence in April 2005. During that event, Barakeh choked a police officer who was in the process of arresting a left-wing Jewish demonstrator who had been throwing stones. Barakeh, confident in his high political position, went on to also punch the officer and verbally assault him.

A year later, Barakeh's son was arrested after attacking a police officer. Barakeh intervened by insulting and threatening the officer while slapping him with his finger.

Also in 2006, Barakeh violently attacked a person who dared to criticize ultra-left-wing leader Uri Avneri during an event in Tel Aviv.

Many of the Arabs in Israel's Knesset often let their vocal opposition to the Jewish state translate into violence. Israelis have long complained that these MKs misuse their parliamentary immunity to get away with violence crimes anyone else would be immediately arrested for.

1 .  Good discussion guys, lets see 1 Thess 5:3 says we
are three parts, spirit, body and soul so I''ll take God at his word. When we are born again as I understand we get a new spirit, the old spirit can''t be regenerated so God gives us a new one but, never heard that the soul came with the new spirit? I believe when the body goes in the grave the other two parts go to be with God unless we weren''t born again, then of course the soul and spirit go to hell where the person in two parts now goes to wait for the three to come together again for judgement. Just like our three will untie for rewards. God Bless Both of you and all are other friends and believers that come to this site:

2 .  I agree with you CmoGrued.
To make it simple I simply mean that it is really difficult to say just what the soul is,or how it is different from the spirit. I would also say man is a tricotomy. I just don''t think it is possible from Scripture to prove what that means. If you know what the soul is let me know, but I suspect you can only speculate.

Yes, BENFOX. That is a very good point. The mind still exists after death doesn''t it. So I guess the mind is somehow a part of the spirit and soul too. No doubt it is what God breathed into us to give us an awareness of Him. The animals do not have this kind of "mind" do they. Perhaps our spirit has its own mind, and maybe that is what the soul is? We could speculate a lot. But I think it eventually leads into areas of psychology that I would totally reject.

You wouldn''t have two cents unless you stole it.

5 .  So man is fallen, and that means he is
fallen in all his parts. His spirit died. that is clear from Scripture. His body, and indeed all of creation, has suffered corruption from the fall. His heart has fallen too and become deceived. His mind is fallen also, and only imagines vain things continually. And if the soul of man is something different from the spirit of man you can be sure it is fallen too. When we are born again it is a work of the Holy Spirit to bring life, regeneration, to our spirit. That makes us "sealed" unto the day of redemption. But our body is still under the curse of death. To say anything else is pure idiocy. We grow older every day. But our hearts are enlightened and now capable of responding to God. And our minds are now capable of being retrained to think good thoughts, and thoughts of good report, pure thoughts, to express the Agape Love of Christ, and to grow in the knowledge and grace of Christ. But that growth is our choice as we become diligent workmen, rightly dividing the Word of Truth. There is no guarante

6 .  Stranger ~ I believe you are complicating...

the obvious. If the Holy Spirit says it then it must be.

God is three parts, so are we.

My view.

When I was a Jehovahs Witness we were adamant that it was dicot, for reasons I feel are obvious also.

1 Thessalonians 5:23
Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you entirely and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved complete, without blame at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Hebrews 4:12
For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

7 .  Good post Stranger 4:35AM, I would like to add my
two cents worth. Since we know the brain turns to maggot''s when the body is dead, so it can''t be the store house of the mind or thought, would you agree? So the soul has to be separte from the body parts of a human. God Bless You and Yours Friend:

8 .  Cont''
So, when I said it does not matter whether man is a dicotomy or a tricotomy, I say it because different people have different ideas about what the soul actually is and whether it differs from the spirit of man. It is not a point of Theology that is crucial, because God Himself has not seen fit to define this area for us to be sure about it. So there is no argument here. Mark also says we are to love God with all our strenth? Is that spiritual strength, physical strength, mental strength, and soulish strength? God can separate our spirit from our body and He know what that means. But we can not divide ourselves into parts so easily. What is personality? Is that not a part of our heart, mind, soul, spirit. I prefer to view man in all his parts a UNITY of parts, no matter how many he may have.

9 .  On a previous post, is man dicot or a tricotomy?
Let me be clear, as I was not before. It is true that we can easily prove that man is body and spirit. But some say he also has a soul. Yes, the Scripture lists three, body, soul, and spirit. Yet the Scripture does not define soul as something different than the spirit. The Scripture also says that we believe with our heart. What does that mean. Christ mentioned in Mt 22:37 that we should love Him with all our heart, soul, and mind. "This is the first and great commandment." What does soul mean here. Are we not to love Him with our spirit? And, is there a difference between mind and heart. The heart involves love. But so does the mind, because the verse says so. Drawing lines between these terms is difficult. I believe man is in fact a tricot. But only because God is a Trinity, and that is actually a weak argument.

11 .  GOOD. GET THE ARAB MUSLIM OUT OF THE KNESSET
And put him in prison with the other violent criminals where he belongs. And Israel my beloved, quit giving arabs representation in your parliament, PLEASE! These are your enemies. They only want your destruction. Give them no seat in your government.

We in America would know. We have a dangerous muslim in our White House. He desires nothing but the total destruction of the United States.

12 .  Yes, the Palestinians are surrounded by
people who would rather see them dead. That would be the Jordanians and the Saudis, and the Syrians, the Egyptians. They refuse to grant any immigration status to them. Of course countries around the world seem to be allowing Muslims to migrate into them in hordes. But always say no to the Palestinians. The Jews are the best friends the Palestinians ever had, but are too stupid and hate filled to know it. Yet, the world feels sorry for them. The world sends them aid, and weapons. The Jews got the ghetto, starvation, and concentration camps and the gas chamber and firing squads. It is a travesty of reason to make any comparison with the way the Pals are treated. They live like kings compared to the Jews in WW II, or the Jews in Russia. But the violent must be brought to justice, and then, throw away the key.
