Two Israelis were lightly wounded on Thursday evening when a Palestinian stabbed them at a gas station on the outskirts of the Judean town of Hebron.
The victims, a man and a woman who were traveling together, were assaulted by a knife and axe-wielding terrorist who took a taxi to the gas station. A passing Israeli soldier shot and seriously wounded the terrorist as he tried to flee the scene.
A short time later, Palestinian terrorists operating out of the Gaza Strip fired five mortar shells into southern Israel. All five mortars landed in open areas and did not cause any injuries or damage.
Israel responded by bombing a terrorist position in Gaza City early Friday morning. According to Palestinian officials, four terrorist gunmen were wounded, two seriously.
Israeli military officials said the targeted cell was preparing to launch more rockets into southern Israel.
