Good to know:
At 212 meters below sea level, the Sea of Galilee (called in Hebrew „Kinneret“) is the deepest freshwater lake on earth. It is fed by the Jordan River, which is created by the confluence of three source rivers at the foot of the Hermon Mountains. It is the most important drinking water reservoir in Israel.
The Sea of Galilee is 21 km long and 12 km wide. The water surface area is 165 km², the circumference 53 km and the maximum depth 46 m.
Few places are mentioned so frequently in the Bible and have such importance in Christianity as the Sea of Galilee.
