I recently saw a clip that went viral on social media.
A tall IDF soldier is standing in full gear at the doorway of a partially collapsed building in Gaza. Behind him sat on the slope of dust and rubble what appeared to be an elderly woman in a burka, and close to the soldier’s leg was a little barefoot Gazan kid, no more than five-years-old, hands shaking as loud artillery fired somewhere off in the distance. With one hand on defensive standby, the soldier holds his gun close to his chest, and with the other, he silently pets the boy’s head and rubs his tense shoulders, his face twisted with fear and misery. Oh, how my heart broke for this seemingly orphaned boy whose world is literally collapsing around him. I pray for him and the older woman every time I think of them.
Did she choose to be born at this point in history to a Palestinian family in war-torn Gaza? Is it his fault Hamas terrorists set out to slaughter...
