The Philippines is looking to significantly increase the number of Israelis visiting the southeast Asian country in the coming year, with the nation’s ambassador saying this is a top priority for her government.

Philippine Ambassador to Israel Aileen Mendiola said the current goal is to boost the number of Israelis visiting the Philippines from 25,000 to 35,000 in 2026, something she sees as entirely achievable.

Mendiola told Israeli media that her embassy is in serious talks with an Israeli airline about establishing a direct flight from Tel Aviv to Manila.

In 2025, around 25,000 tourists from Israel visited the Philippines, while approximately 50,000 Filipino citizens visited Israel—despite the absence of direct flights, high ticket prices, and route cancellations. These figures, the ambassador noted, justify operating two to three weekly direct flights between Tel Aviv and Manila.

For Israelis in the know, the Philippines is already a favorite travel destination with its stunning panoramic views, thick jungles, active volcanoes, and some of the best beaches and snorkeling in the world.
