Of these, 6,668,000 (74.3 percent) are Jews, 1,878,000 (20.9 percent) are Arabs and 426,000 (4.8 percent) are others.
Eighty-one percent of the increase is attributable to natural population growth, with around 100,000 added to the Jewish population, and 37,000 to the Arab population.
The other population groups, including non-Arab Christians, increased by 3,500 people.
In 2018, 185,000 children were born and 29,000 people immigrated. As a returnee or non-citizen, about 12,000 people came into the country.
About one-third of the immigrants came from Russia, 19.6 percent from Ukraine, eight percent from France and eight percent from the United States.
