The Bloomberg Innovation Index, published annually by the Bloomberg media firm, ranks the Jewish state in 10th place among the most innovative countries in the world. In certain categories–R&D intensity and researcher concentration–Israel was ranked first. In other words, the Jewish state is the place to be if you want to discover and develop new methods and products.
The index lists the top 50 most innovative countries in the world. Criteria for making the list include, among other things, the ratio of research and development investment to the gross domestic product, productivity and patent activity. It also considers the number of people per million inhabitants engaged in research and development, with a focus on academics and doctoral candidates. The concentration of hi-tech companies is taken into account
