Ok, a many Jewish settlers were already going to medical school. But now, they won’t have to travel quite so far.

 Ariel, one of the largest so-called “settlements” in the Land, has started construction on Israel’s sixth official medical school. The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Education Minister Naftali Bennett and Jewish-American billionaire Sheldon Adelson.

 

The college is named after Adelson and his Israel-born wife, Miriam, as they donated $5 million of the $30 million needed to complete the project.

 

Ariel is already home to the only full-fledged university in the settlements, a school that today has enrollment of over 15,000 students. Despite being part of the “settler enterprise,” Ariel University has proved to be a great example of coexistence, attracting many Arab students...
