In fact, a whole industry has arisen around the making of sufganiyot, resulting in a wide variety of fillings and toppings. Given that Hanukkah lasts eight days, Israel makes a lot of sufganiyot this time of year. Especially for all our soldiers. The IDF ordered no fewer than 360,000 sufganiyot in December. Let’s not get into whether or not these fried and sugery treats are healthy for our soldiers. We’ll just note that they are definitely good for morale.
