“For the first time since the reunification of Jerusalem [in 1967], new police stations have been established in the Arab neighborhoods of the city,” Erdan said in a TV interview. “In the next few years we are going to see a further reinforcement of the Israel Police in the Arab residential areas.”
Anyone who knows the city is well aware that Jewish West Jerusalem enjoys a much better state of law and order than the rough neighborhoods of Arab East Jerusalem. For years, Palestinian residents and personalities in the capital have been complaining about crime in their areas and they blame it on an insufficient presence of police.
