It’s time for Israel to choose strategic clarity over tactical hesitation—and to fight for public opinion with as much precision as it does on the battlefield.

Israel stands at a global crossroads—and the chasm between Israeli perceptions and those within American Jewry has never been wider. A recent survey conducted by the Israel-based think tank Jewish People Policy Institute (JPPI) among US Jews reveals a deep disconnect in attitudes toward the Gaza war, Israeli strategy, and the seismic upset brewing in New York’s mayoral race.

Israel’s war viewed through two different Jewish lenses

In July, the JPPI found that 54% of Israeli Jews believe Israel is winning the war in Gaza. By contrast, barely one‑third of American Jews shared that conviction. Ideology amplified the divide: 50% of Trump‑voting Jews believed Israel was winning, whereas a majority of Kamala Harris supporters (53%) said it was not.
