In recent discussions around Israel’s survival, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz stated that without German military aid, Israel would “no longer exist.” This sentiment echoes similar claims made by former President Trump, suggesting that Israel’s very existence hinges on foreign support. But is this the whole story?
Ryan Jones delves into the complexities of these statements, emphasizing that while Germany and America provide military and diplomatic support, they do not define Israel’s right to exist. The narrative that frames Israel as solely reliant on Western powers overlooks a crucial part of history and the resilience of the Israeli people.
It also ignores the most important aspect of all: The Covenant.

What western leaders have said about being the only reason Israel survives in today’s world is said to build themselves up in their egos. Thomas Sowell once said, “the Jews are hated for one reason, success.” That is very true, the idea that Israel owes its success to western nations only comes in small helps at its beginning, and most of that was from wealthy Jews in western nations. The same could be said about Islam, and it would be every bit, true. Islam could not have gotten anywhere close to where it is today without western money or technology. But when I look at the contrast between how Israel treats those who have helped them and how Islam treats those who helped them, it is far easier to see that the Jews are far more honest with their friends and business partners than Islam.
Israel is not doing everything they can to destroy the cultures and nations who don’t submit to their ideology as Islam does. Israel’s covenant with the Holy God doesn’t require lying to people to take advantage of them, it doesn’t require that those who don’t submit must be killed, war isn’t the goal of Israel like it is with Islam.
I believe there are many who are Islamic who don’t like what they see the rest of their religion doing to people all over the world to force people to believe in Islam. But even they face the threat of death if they say anything about that. I have never believed that Islam is a religion of peace, there simply is no evidence of it anywhere.
Fear, is the weapon of choice of evil people, they push that weapon hard, every day. We are entering a time when that weapon is going to be turned back upon those who use it to force submission on people who simply want to live their lives for the benefit of family and friends and serve a loving God who has bestowed His love on those who believe in Him and trust in Him.
Those who want to take credit for Israel’s success, are stepping into consequences they will totally regret when they are standing in front of a Great White Throne and Israel’s true benefactor is sitting on it to judge the world.
