A Palestinian Arab man on Friday rammed his vehicle into Israelis waiting at a light rail train station in northern Jerusalem. Four Border Police officers and an Israeli cyclist were wounded in the attack.

After running down his initial victims, the assailant, identified as a resident of the eastern Jerusalem neighborhood of Ras Al-Amud, emerged from the car with a butcher’s knife and attempted to stab passersby.

A Border Police officer and a light rail security guard quickly shot the terrorist and brought the attack to an abrupt halt.

The attack occurred as Israelis were celebrating the biblical holiday of Purim, meaning many young children were out in public.
