A 23-year-old Palestinian opened fire on Jewish employees at the Barkan Industrial Park. Brutally killed in the attack were Kim Yehezkel (29) and Ziv Hajbi (35). The terrorist had first tied up Yehezkel before executing her at close range. Also wounded in the shooting was 54-year-old Sara Vaturi.
Kim Yehezkel leaves behind her husband and their 18-month-old son, while Ziv Hajbi leaves behind his wife and three young children. Sara Vaturi would have joined them on the list of fatalities if not for Bassel, a Palestinian work colleague. At the hospital, she said, “One Palestinian murdered, and another Palestinian saved my life. Bassel is a hero. I was barely conscious, lying under the table. With a roll of paper he compressed my wound. Otherwise, I would have bled to death. He calmed me, spoke to me to keep me conscious and stroked my face.”
Later that evening, Bassel, who works as a warehouse clerk, telephoned the hospital to check on Sara....
