The Australian government has for some time now been publicly mulling the transfer of its embassy to Jerusalem.

Of course, such a move is viewed negatively by much of the Muslim world, where leaders have voiced strong criticism for Australia’s considerations. One of the countries to voice its displeasure with Australia has been Indonesia, the most populous Muslim country in the world. Apparently, the Indonesian people are very upset about a possible Australian embassy in Jerusalem, and have taken to demonstrating regularly in front of the Australian Embassy in Jakarta. The warning is clear: if Australia dares to recognize Israeli sovereignty over Jerusalem in this way, it can expect riots at its embassies in most Muslim countries.
