As Israel Mourns, Palestinians Celebrate Terror

As Israelis tearfully remember those who have fallen in defense of this nation, Palestinians honor those who bring violence

Even as Israel on Wednesday mourned the 23,320 killed defending this nation or as victims of terrorism, the Palestinian Authority (PA) was in the midst of a media campaign honoring the very terrorists who have so long plagued the Jewish state with death and destruction.

As happens every year, a nationwide siren brought Israel to an utter standstill at 11 AM Wednesday morning. This moment of silence was followed by tear-filled ceremonies at cemeteries and memorial sites across the country. Nearly every Israeli has lost a family member or friend to war or terror.

Sadly, Israel’s “peace partners” indicated they have no true desire to end the bloodshed, as they openly praised those committing acts of violence against the Jews, thereby encouraging a new generation to follow in those bloody footsteps.

Palestinian Media Watch compiled a list of official Palestinian media reports and announcements honoring 14 particular terrorists who had murdered at least 160 Israelis.

Among those held aloft by the PA was Abu Jihad (Khalil Al-Wazir), the former head of the PLO’s military wing who was responsible for the deaths of no fewer than 125 Israelis.

Over the past month, PA TV aired two documentaries about Abu Jihad and his “exploits.” Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas’ own ruling Fatah faction also held a table tennis tournament named in Abu Jihad’s honor, and used its official Facebook page to call upon Palestinian university students to view the arch-terrorist as a role model.
