It has become increasingly common for local Arab media to present unrelated photographs as evidence of purported Israeli crimes. In other words, “fake news.”

A particularly contemptible example occurred recently when Palestinian Authority TV aired a feature on the alleged Israeli massacre at the Arab village of Al-Dawayima during the 1948 War of Independence. PA TV really wanted to show its viewers the imagined scale of this atrocity, but was lacking any hard evidence.
