(TPS) The IDF reported that an IDF officer was seriously injured in the car ramming terror attack at the Bel checkpoint in the Maccabim area Wednesday morning. A terrorist ran his car over the soldier.
This is just the latest in a string of attacks on Israeli soldiers and police on the open roads around Israel, including attempts to run them over with different types of vehicles.
Maccabim is west of Jerusalem, near Modiin.
The officer shot the terrorist in question.
The terrorist got out of the vehicle armed with an ax in order to attack the officer, who shot at the terrorist and neutralized him.
Magen David Adom reported that at 8:34 AM a report was received about a car ramming incident near where someone was run over by a car. MDA medics and paramedics provided medical treatment on the scene and sent a 20-year-old young man to Shaarei Zedek Hospital in serious condition with bruises on his limbs.
MDA paramedics Yishai Rauchbarger and Shira Malka said:
“The wounded man was fully conscious and suffered bruises on his limbs. We gave him medical treatment that included stopping bleeding, immobilization and giving painkillers and quickly evacuated him in an MDA intensive care vehicle while continuing medical treatment at the hospital.”
Shaare Zedek hospital reported that a person injured in the hit and run car ramming attack at the Maccabim checkpoint arrived at the hospital’s trauma unit.
The injured man is in his 20s and is in serious condition with multi-system damage. The injured person is currently anesthetized and ventilated and after an imaging test will be transferred to an operating room.
Looking at the picture makes me know I could be very much at home in Israel as it looks like the area where I live.
My prayers are with the young man injured in the ramming attack, may the Lord be with him.
