Jewelry designer Dafna talks about her passion for jewelry making:
“My name is Dafna. I am an Israeli designer and founder of the Meydalle Studio – my jewelry is handmade and inspired from the heart. When I design my jewelry, I bring my own personal experience and talent to bear. Every piece of jewelry expresses optimism and an inner strength that I carry within me. Many of these pieces are designed with the Word of God and a statement of encouragement, among other things.
“It all started with a small stand on the streets of Tel Aviv where I was allowed to express my experience and talent through my jewelry. I’ve always enjoyed working with materials and trying out new artistic things. When I started making jewelry it seemed like the perfect route for me. What encourages me most is that I can send words and messages through a beautiful piece of jewelry.
“My process always starts with an idea. Even in a boring moment of the day or in the most hectic minute, a new idea can always arise. This then results in a whole process that can take a week or even a year. I find fulfillment in every moment of my work and enjoy the entire design process from the idea to the end of production. I love working with materials that reflect my idea and the message of the jewelry, such as: silver, gold, brass, stones or cords. But in the end, the message is what matters.”
