According to Pew, Israeli support for President Donald Trump jumped from 56 percent to 69 percent after the US Embassy moved to Jerusalem. Overall, 80 percent of respondents had a positive opinion of Trump, and 86 percent think that the current US administration genuinely considers Israeli interests when formulating policy. Only 69 percent believed that to be true back in 2013.
Speaking of former US President Barack Obama, 79 percent of Israelis said their nation’s relations with America have greatly improved under Trump. Sixty-five percent of Israelis are now happy for the US to remain the world’s leading power, while a small 13 percent minority think it would be better for China to take the lead.
Along with the Philippines and South Korea, Israel is one of the few countries where Trump finds majority support. At the other end of the spectrum is Russia, where just 26 percent of respondents expressed a positive attitude toward the US...
