This week one of our workers was surprised to see that Psalm 122:6-7 is engraved all across the main wall inside the central bus station in Jerusalem! And today happens to be the day on which we commemorate the destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem (the 9th of the month of Av).
I was glad when they said to me, “Let us go to the house of the Lord” … where the tribes go up… to give thanks to the name of the LORD… PRAY FOR THE PEACE OF JERUSALEM: MAY THEY PROSPER WHO LOVE YOU. PEACE BE WITHIN YOUR WALLS…
Western Wall prayers opening the 9th of Av day of fasting were conducted in sectioned off “pods” in accordance with social distancing regulations.
Israelis ascend the Temple Mount. The 9th of Av is a remembrance of the destruction of the First and Second Temples.
Many spent the night “at the feet of God” on the floor of the Western Wall plaza.
