International surveys have confirmed this again and again. Reuters has now published a list of the world’s 100 most innovative universities, and, wouldn’t you know it, no fewer than three Israeli schools appear there.
The Hebrew University of Jerusalem came in 82nd, while Tel Aviv University landed the 88th spot, followed by the Technion in Haifa (rank 89). The Hebrew University has jumped 12 places since the previous list published a year ago, while Tel Aviv University and the Technion were missing altogether at that time. The President of the Hebrew University, Professor Asher Cohen, recalled the founding of the institute at a recent press conference: “A century ago, our focus on innovation began with our founding fathers Albert Einstein, Sigmund Freud and Martin Buber. Today, the culture of innovation continues in the students and faculty who work to make the world better for all people.”
