Israelis of all walks of life, both Jews and Arabs, serves as volunteer EMTs and first responders with United Hatzalah

The following video gives a sneak peek into the life-saving volunteer work of Niv, a mall security guard in the Jerusalem-area town of Mevasseret Zion.

Like many other average Israelis, Niv is a volunteer first responder with the emergency medical organization United Hatzalah, whose mobile EMTs are often the first on the scene.

United Hatzalah has been running a series of short 90-second videos highlighting the work of its volunteers.
